Google is experimenting with a new feature called "Shielded Email" to help users keep spam out of their inboxes. This feature will allow users to generate temporary email addresses that forward messages to their primary inbox.
Here's how it works:
* Temporary Addresses: When signing up for a service or providing an email address online, users can opt to use a Shielded Email.
* Forwarding: Emails sent to the temporary address will be forwarded to the user's main inbox.
* Spam Blocking: If the temporary address starts receiving spam, the user can easily disable it, preventing those unwanted messages from reaching their primary inbox.
This feature offers a convenient way to protect your main email address from spam and keep your inbox clean. It's currently being tested and is expected to roll out to Android users through Google Play Services.
