Microsoft is experimenting with new ways to make snapping windows easier in Windows 11. The latest preview update, KB5046716, includes changes to Snap Layouts that aim to make the feature more intuitive and user-friendly.
Here's what's new:
* Clearer Labels: When you use Snap Layouts (Win + Z), you'll now see labels above the layout options, explaining what each layout does. This makes it easier to understand how your windows will be arranged.
* Taskbar Sharing: You can now share files directly from the Taskbar jump lists. Right-click on an app icon, and you'll see a share option next to recently opened files.
* Gamepad Keyboard Layout: A new on-screen keyboard layout optimized for gamepad navigation has been added, making it easier to type with an Xbox controller.
These changes are currently being tested with Windows Insiders, and if they prove successful, they'll likely roll out to all Windows 11 users in a future update.
