Apple iPhone 18 Pro May Launch in Stunning Deep Red Finish

The forthcoming Pro iPhones from Apple have been receiving a lot of attention and this time, it's not because of their performance capabilities. It seems that the new models of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will come out in a deep red color, which would be a rare and exciting change.

Here is all the information on that matter so far.

Deep Red Could Be the Highlight

There is an established culture at Apple Inc., in which the company introduces a particular colour that will mark a specific year for the Pro range. In the past years, we saw colours like Pacific Blue, Deep Purple, and Cosmic Orange become the hallmark of their generation.

However, new reports indicate that there is a test underway within Apple’s labs regarding a new shade of red. The news was first disclosed by Mark Gurman, who has inside information about Apple, and corroborated by a Chinese leaker called Digital Chat Station.

This is particularly fascinating because similar shades were found to be used in prototype Android phones, indicating that Apple has set a trend that is being followed in other companies too.

Why Deep Red Matters

Apple's color selection doesn't remain exclusive for very long it eventually becomes an industry-wide trend.

For instance:

  • The “Cosmic Orange” color used in the Apple iPhone 17 Pro was soon spotted on models manufactured by Honor and Infinix.

  • Colors such as Deep Purple and Pacific Blue have previously inspired Android manufacturers

  • Early appearances of the deep red color in Android prototypes are believed to be a clear indication of the color being incorporated by Apple officially.

In another unexpected leak by Instant Digital, it looks like Apple may skip the popular black color choice for a second consecutive year a decision that could affect consumer preference.

More Than Just Colour

While the deep red finish is grabbing headlines, the iPhone 18 Pro series could bring major hardware changes too.

🔹 Under-Display Face ID (In Testing)

Apple is reportedly experimenting with under-display Face ID, aiming for a cleaner, uninterrupted display. However, not all sources agree on a fully invisible system.

🔹 Smaller Dynamic Island

Leaks from sources like Ice Universe and earlyappleleaks suggest:

  • A narrower cutout

  • Possibly a reduced Dynamic Island, rather than complete removal

This means users could still get the functionality but with a more immersive screen experience.

Possible Change in Launch Strategy

Apple might also shake up its traditional release timeline:

  • Pro models (iPhone 18 Pro series): Expected in Fall 2026 (usual schedule)

  • Standard models: Could shift to Spring 2027 launch

This would be a major strategic change, separating premium and standard models more clearly than ever before.

Should You Wait for the iPhone 18 Pro?

If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could be a design-first upgrade rather than just a spec bump.

It might be worth waiting if:

  • You care about premium design and unique colours

  • You’re excited about under-display Face ID

  • You want a more futuristic, minimal display

But keep in mind:

This is still early-stage information, and Apple’s final decisions could change before launch.

The possible introduction of a deep red iPhone is not only a matter of color choice but also a reflection of how Apple continues to lead in setting design trends for smartphones globally. As in the past, such a finish would not remain exclusive for long but may very well come to market as the most attractive option available.

At the moment, however, all eyes are on Apple, with 2026 just around the corner. And if rumors prove correct, the next Pro iPhone could be one of the most daring designs yet seen.
