Boltt has revealed the display specifications of its upcoming Ace and Evo smartphones ahead of their August 25 India launch. Both phones feature 6.79-inch 120Hz HD+ displays, 6,000mAh batteries and AI-powered cameras, with pricing expected in the Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000 segment.

The spin-off brand of Fire-Boltt, Boltt, is planning to join the fierce competition in the Indian smartphone segment with its first-ever range of smartphones namely Boltt Ace and Boltt Evo. After having revealed the overall design of the duo, Boltt has now officially confirmed the display specs and shared some notable features of these smartphones before their launch. These smartphones will launch in India in the price range between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 on August 25.
On launch day, Boltt Ace and Boltt Evo smartphones will launch only on Flipkart, where the brand will be competing against several smartphone brands operating in the budget and mid-range segment._flipkart has now teased more details of these smartphones._
Boltt Ace and Evo Get 6.79-inch 120Hz Displays
One of the key features of the Boltt Ace and Evo smartphones is their huge display. As per the information provided by Boltt, both smartphones will be equipped with a massive 6.79-inch HD+ display, featuring 720 × 1640 pixels resolution along with 263ppi density. These smartphones will target consumers who watch a lot of videos, surf on social media platforms, and even play casual games as the manufacturers claim that the displays will offer huge, smooth, and bright visuals.
Both displays are capable of delivering a 120Hz refresh rate, thus, making the compatible videos and animations smoother than the traditional 60Hz displays. The high refresh rate is one of the must-have features for smartphones under Rs 20,000, so this addition will help Boltt to stay competitive against existing models.
Boltt has also confirmed that there is up to 600 nits of maximum brightness. Although this is acceptable on the surface, when used outdoors, the actual performance of the display in terms of visibility would depend on its ability to perform well under the sun. Contrast, colour accuracy, viewing angles, and panel tuning are the main factors to consider in determining how the display performs.
The two smartphones would have a punch-hole design for their front camera. This type of design helps cover most of the screen on the front side without the need for notches like the other budget smartphones before.
Boltt Ace and Evo Battery and Camera Details Revealed
Besides the display, there are other hardware aspects of the upcoming Boltt smartphone that have been leaked out by Flipkart through its teaser campaign. The Boltt Ace as well as the Boltt Evo will be fitted with a huge 6,000mAh battery, which may be among their biggest selling points.
While the Boltt Ace comes with a fast charging of up to 18W, nothing has been said about the charging rate of the Boltt Evo phone. With such a high battery capacity of 6,000mAh, the two smartphones can definitely provide good battery life.
Also, the specifications for the cameras are going to be different for both models. The Boltt Ace is going to have a 64 MP primary camera, whereas the Boltt Evo is going to have a 50 MP primary camera. Interestingly, Boltt claims that these cameras are based on Google Gemini, meaning that Boltt could utilize AI image processing or any other features based on Google Gemini.
Still, how these AI features are going to work has not been explained in detail yet. It will be interesting to see if the integration of Gemini into the phone is limited to image processing or if Boltt will introduce other camera and productivity-related features.
Close-to-Stock Android Experience With No Bloatware
Another aspect through which Boltt can distinguish the Ace and Evo models from other smartphones available in the market is software. Arnav Kishore, Founder and CEO of Boltt, suggests that both devices would come with an almost stock Android interface without any bloatware.
Users who like to have an uncomplicated Android interface devoid of any pre-installed applications could appreciate the choice made by Boltt in the Ace and Evo. The companies manufacturing smartphones below Rs 20,000 usually modify Android heavily and pack their devices with proprietary and third-party apps.
It is still not known whether the software version used by Boltt and its update policy would be revealed anytime soon. It is expected that such information would be of great importance for future buyers when the Ace and Evo launch officially.
Boltt Has Over 480 Service Partners Across India
After-sales service also plays an essential part in the plans of Boltt as it gears up for its entry into the highly competitive smartphone market in India. Boltt claims that it has developed a network of more than 480 service partners in India which provide walk-in services and complete repair services.
For a new entrant in the market, after-sales services might turn out to be equally vital as specifications and pricing. Having a large network of services will certainly assist Boltt in establishing consumer trust especially since the consumers might not be very familiar with the brand.
However, Boltt will have to ensure that there is uniformity in terms of quality of service provided by its service network as it develops its line of smartphones.
Boltt Ace and Evo Could Take on Lava Virat V1 Series
These smartphones will be released into a market that is currently occupied by many other Indian as well as foreign brands, which have launched feature-packed smartphones. These smartphones from Boltt will compete directly with other smartphones like the Lava Virat V1 4G and 5G, which are priced below Rs 15,000.
Similar to the soon to be launched smartphones of Boltt, the Lava Virat V1 phones also focus on features like software and HD+ displays. This makes the Boltt Ace and Evo all the more interesting, because their success will rely on how much better the experience they offer can be over the existing options in the market.
With its 120Hz display, 6,000mAh battery, AI cameras and a software-focused Android, these Boltt smartphones can prove to be quite a package for the company to offer.
Boltt Ace and Evo India Launch Date and Expected Positioning
Boltt's Ace and Evo models will be launched in India on August 25th and will only be available via Flipkart on the day of the launch. The brand seems to target the price range of Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000 but it has not been announced yet whether both of the smartphone models will cost this much.
Both smartphones seem to be equipped with decent specifications on paper; however, it will depend on how much they will cost, what processors they will include, how good their camera performance will be, how well they will charge, and the general display of their performance that will influence whether both smartphones will be able to attract potential customers.
With only a few days left until the launch date, Boltt will announce more details about its smartphones. Should the brand manage to provide competitive pricing, a smooth software experience, and after-sales service, then the Ace and Evo will become interesting alternatives for consumers who do not want to use the well-known smartphone models in the segment below Rs 20,000.
