ChatGPT Now Connects with Spotify, Canva, Expedia, and More in Latest OpenAI Integration Update

OpenAI has begun rolling out a thrilling new feature that enables ChatGPT to link and communicate directly with several different apps and platforms adding a whole new level of functionality to conversations. It's being rolled out to Free, Go, Plus, and Pro users (excluding the EU) and is set to roll out even further later this year.

Introducing App Integrations in ChatGPT

In one brief demo OpenAI presented, the firm explained how customers can now converse with well-known apps including Spotify, Canva, Booking.com, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, and Zillow directly within ChatGPT. That means you can easily take app-specific actions such as creating, planning a trip, or discovering music without leaving the chat.

Today, the integration is present only in English and functions in the areas where these partner firms have operations. The aim is to position ChatGPT not only as a conversational assistant but as a productivity as well as creativity center for all platforms.

Spotify + ChatGPT

One of the most intriguing integrations is from Spotify. Both Free and Premium subscribers can now connect their Spotify profiles to ChatGPT and use such prompts as "Spotify, make a playlist for relaxing in the evening" or "Spotify, suggest podcasts on innovation in tech."

Just imagine typing in "Canva, turn this text into a new presentation," and receiving a ready-to-edit design in an instant that's how much more effortless OpenAI is looking to make it.

Expedia and Booking.com + ChatGPT

For travelers, the integration with Booking.com and Expedia simplifies trip planning and makes it more intuitive. Users can simply ask ChatGPT to search for hotels, narrow down travel searches, or even look at results in a carousel or map view all through natural language conversations. Be it a weekend getaway or a month-long trip, ChatGPT now becomes your AI-powered travel companion.

Unlocking Opportunities for Developers

In addition to these integrations, OpenAI has also released a preview of its forthcoming Apps SDK, founded on Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP). The SDK will enable developers to craft their own individual integrations with ChatGPT, opening up unlimited possibilities for future partnerships.

Apps SDK will be open to additional developers later this year, and OpenAI has already dropped documentation for those keen on developing early.
