Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Release Is Finally Confirmed for 2026
Forza Horizon 6 is officially coming to PS5 later this year. Here’s everything we know about the 2026 PS5 release, possible release date reveal, and new British Automotive update.

Forza Horizon 6 fans who want to experience the new gaming world on their PS5 are in luck, as the developers have confirmed that the upcoming game will be available on the console before this year ends. Although an exact release date is not known yet, what is sure is that PlayStation owners can now breathe a sigh of relief because they won’t have to wait until 2027 to play the newest game in the Forza Horizon franchise.
When the upcoming racing game was revealed to the public in 2025, Microsoft made it clear that the game would be available on both Xbox and PC. In addition, the game would be released on PlayStation 5 in the coming years. With the recent news, it’s now clear that PlayStation owners would be able to play the game by 2026.
Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Release
The revelation came more like an incidental note in the developer’s blog post, which was rather extensive and centered around the British automotive lineup and the next Forza Horizon 6 update. The Drift Attack feature was presented in the blog post, but the latter’s last part was what PlayStation users had been eagerly waiting for.
The developers said, “Are you planning your trip to Discover Japan on PlayStation 5? Keep an eye out for Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 coming later this year!” From the statement above, it becomes evident that the PS5 edition of the game is going to be released in 2026, even though the studio has not announced the release date yet.
What is interesting about it is the fact that the Forza Horizon 6 page on the PlayStation Store is live, allowing players to add the game to their wishlist before its release.
It is not known officially when the PS5 release date will be announced by Microsoft and the developers. However, one such venue that could be considered would be the Tokyo Game Show 2026. The reason is that Forza Horizon 6 had been exhibited during last year's Tokyo Game Show, and since Tokyo had played a great part in the theme and setting of the game, it would make sense for it to be shown once again this year.
However, the relationship between Tokyo Game Show 2026 and the PS5 release date is just speculation at this point in time.
Forza Horizon 6 Gets New Drift Attack Feature
While PS5 gamers hold out for the arrival of this title on their platform, Forza Horizon 6 is also getting new updates via its British Automotive pack. Drift Attack is one of the most interesting features which is designed to offer additional opportunities for competition and rewards for players in the open-world racer.
Drift Attack will be permanently added to the game rather than being available for a limited time. There is also a possibility to get the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition through this new content, offering another car option to the players who are interested in collecting cars.
The update also involves the takeover of the Horizon Stadium, as well as the appearance of three new cars which will become part of the Forza Horizon line-up. They can be acquired by players via the Festival Playlist. The new cars are 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior, and 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR.
But for the gamers who prefer PlayStation, the primary message is the PS5 confirmation of Forza Horizon 6. Having waited several months for information about the release of the game in either 2026 or 2027, it was announced by the developers that the title will be released on the PlayStation 5 in the latter part of the year. While an exact release date is not yet known, the waiting period has become much shorter than the gamers expected.
