Google continues to widen the availability of its budget Gemini AI Plus plan, making it available to even more users around the world. Introduced in early September as a cheaper substitute for the AI Pro plan, Gemini AI Plus initially became available in Indonesia before rolling out to 40 other nations. Google has now announced another significant expansion with 36 new markets, bringing the total number of countries to 77 globally.

A Broader Rollout Focusing On Price-Sensitive Markets
The newest expansion targets areas where price is a determining factor in technology adoption. Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Colombia, Fiji, Iraq, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Turkey, South Africa, and Thailand are some of the new additions to the markets. The action reflects Google's commitment to making AI-enabled productivity tools available to more people outside of high-end regions such as the US or Europe.
You can see the entire list of supported nations right on Google's official support website.
What the Gemini AI Plus Plan Has to Offer
The Gemini AI Plus plan is a balance between feature and cost. While it does not have some of the more advanced features included in the $20/month AI Pro plan, it also has good value for its cost. Members receive:
200GB of Google storage (shareable with up to five family members)
200 monthly credits for Whisk and Flow
Deep Research powered by the Gemini 2.5 Pro model
Enhanced Gemini integration across Google services
Access to audio overviews and advanced NotebookLM features
Expanded customization options and additional notebook sources
Though, it is important to mention that while storage space can be shared with family members, Gemini-specific benefits are reserved for the main account holder only.
Who Can Subscribe to Gemini AI Plus
Sign up requires users to be residing within one of the supported nations and must not currently be Google One members via Pixel Pass or a third-party affiliation. Such users will not qualify for the upgrade.
Limited-Time 50% Discount for New Users
To make the offer even more irresistible, Google is offering a 50% discount on the AI Plus plan for six months to qualified users. The promotion further reduces the cost, and it is now one of the lowest-cost AI subscriptions on the market.
By rolling out Gemini AI Plus primarily in price-sensitive markets, Google appears to be following a regional strategy similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go plan, which also focuses on affordability-driven countries. This move could help Google grow its AI user base in emerging economies, introducing millions of new users to the Gemini ecosystem.
As Google continues to roll out Gemini AI Plus to additional countries, the strategy is an impressive step toward democratizing access to AI tools without the high price tag.
