Google Pixel 10 Series

Google Pixel phones have always been in a unique position within the Android family, owing to their minimalist software, great cameras, and innovative AI-driven features. With the Google Pixel 9 series being relatively fresh in the minds of tech buffs, everyone is now awaiting its successor – the Google Pixel 10 series.


Leaks and rumors regarding the Pixel 10 have been emerging slowly, and the anticipation is mounting. Scheduled for a release later this year, the Pixel 10 series is rumored to introduce significant changes in terms of processing power, camera performance, and battery life, with a largely unchanged design language compared to the previous models. Let's get into what we currently know and what we can expect from the new Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.


Google Pixel 10 Series Models

Much like the Pixel 9 generation, the upcoming Pixel family is expected to include three variants:

  • Pixel 10

  • Pixel 10 Pro

  • Pixel 10 Pro XL

Although the DNA of stock Android and Pixel-centric features remain the same across all models, the Pro and XL variants typically have a larger display, more powerful camera systems, and a larger battery capacity.

This tiered approach allows buyers to choose between compact, balanced, and full-featured devices.



Expected Launch Timeline

Based on Google's conventional release timeline, the Pixel 10 line is to go on sale in August 2025, following a similar release pattern as the Pixel 9 series. Although Google has not confirmed, market experts and leakers suggest August or early September release, with pre-orders and availability shortly thereafter.


The worldwide launch will be followed by a synchronized release in key markets, such as the United States, Canada, Britain, and India. As India becomes increasingly significant in Google's market strategy, it's most likely that Pixel 10 phones will be released in India simultaneous with the global launch.


Pixel 10 Series Colour Options (Leaked)

With a recent leak from Mystic Leaks, we have an early glimpse of the colour options expected in the Pixel 10 series. Google has always liked to have fun with the colour names and the Pixel 10 series is no exception.


Pixel 10 Expected Colours:

  • Obsidian (classic black)

  • Blue

  • Iris

  • Limoncello

This arrangement is just a little different from the Pixel 9 which was offered in Obsidian, Peony, Porcelain, and Wintergreen. The addition of Iris and Limoncello (most likely hints of purple and yellow), could give the Pixel 10 a new personality.


Pixel 10 Pro & Pro XL Expected Colours:

  • Obsidian

  • Green

  • Sterling

  • Porcelain

However, the Pixel 9 Pro options were Hazel, Obsidian, Porcelain, and Rose Quartz. These new colors signify a minor change in tone while keeping some standards like Obsidian and Porcelain consistent.



If judging based on color options, Google continues its tradition of understated refinement versus quirky vibrancy, a welcoming duality for minimalists and throwbacks alike.


Hardware Upgrades

While the design may remain largely the same, under the hood, the Pixel 10 series is where the real changes are expected.


Tensor G5 Chipset

The Pixel 10 series will be driven by Google's next-generation Tensor G5 chipset. This is an upgrade over the Tensor G4 that drives the Pixel 9. The G5 is said to be being produced by TSMC using the 3nm N3E process, which not only delivers better performance but also enhances thermal efficiency and battery life.

This is a change to Google's silicon approach, probably designed to solve the overheating and throttling issues seen in some of its earlier Tensor-powered devices.


The Tensor G5 is expected to deliver:

  • Greater AI processing power for functionalities like live translation, voice writing and real-time photo editing.

  • Better power-efficiency. Hopes for better battery life in the Pixel.

  • Faster app loading and snappier multitasking.

And because the Tensor chip is custom-made, lengths could go into allowing Google to continue to tightly control the hardware and software to provide the Pixel experience you enjoy.


Camera Upgrades

Photography has always been the biggest USP of Pixel phones. This year, Google seems ready to take that even further with serious hardware upgrades.


Pixel 10 Camera Setup:

  • 50MP Samsung GN8 primary sensor

  • 13MP ultra-wide lens

  • 11MP front camera for selfies and video calls


Pixel 10 Pro & Pro XL Camera Setup:

  • 50MP Samsung GNV primary sensor

  • 48MP ultra-wide sensor

  • 48MP telephoto lens

  • 48MP selfie camera

If these specs are realized, this would be the largest selfie camera upgrade ever in a Pixel phone. The increased megapixel count on both rear and front cameras, along with Google's renowned image processing, will surely provide spectacular detail, dynamic range, and low-light performance.


Expect improvements in:

  • Night Sight and astrophotography

  • Motion blur and cinematic video stabilization

  • Real Tone and Magic Eraser

  • Enhanced Portrait and Macro modes

The Pro and Pro XL variants may also introduce periscope-style zoom or Lidar-assisted focusing, which have been rumored but not confirmed.



Battery & Charging

Even though we don't know the actual battery capacities yet, we would anticipate that Google will make mild improvements to the Pixel 10 family instead of the Pixel 9 series. With the 3nm Tensor G5 and further refined thermal management, the Pixel 10 devices might offer:

  • Longer screen time

  • Greater standby power

  • Faster charging (wired and wireless)

There is also speculation regarding improvements in reverse wireless charging that would allow Pixel 10 devices to more efficiently charge accessories, such as, earbuds/ smartwatches.


Google Pixel 10 Series Pricing in India (Leaked)

When it comes to pricing, the Pixel 10 series is expected to follow a similar strategy to last year but with one big difference for the top-end model.


Pixel 10 (Expected Price):

₹80,000 (~$799)


Pixel 10 Pro (Expected Price):

₹85,000 (~$999)


Pixel 10 Pro XL (Expected Price):

₹1,01,700 (~$1,199)

These prices put the base Pixel 10 in the flagship category, while the Pro XL is clearly competing with the likes of Samsung’s Ultra line and the iPhone Pro Max variants.


The price increase of the Pro XL may be supported by:

  • A larger display (maybe a 6.9-inch QHD+ OLED)

  • Better camera hardware

  • A bigger battery, or only exclusive software features



Will the Pixel 10 Series Launch in India?

Yes, the Pixel 10 series is likely to release in India possibly on the same date or within a week of its global release. As the Indian market gains growing attention and as the Pixel 8 and 9 series were well received, Google is likely to maintain India as a priority region for Pixel releases.

Pixel fans in India can expect availability via:

  • Flipkart (Google’s exclusive partner)

  • Select offline stores

  • Google Store India website

Early birds and loyalists should keep an eye on pre-order deals, which may include bank offers, free Pixel Buds, or extended warranty packs.


The Google Pixel 10 series will reportedly be released in August 2025, after the Pixel 9 series. Although the design is likely to be similar, the series will introduce significant hardware improvements, such as a high-performance Tensor G5 processor based on TSMC's 3nm N3E process, providing better performance and efficiency.

Photography enthusiasts are also going to be thrilled with the upgrages. The Pixel 10 can come with a 50MP Samsung GN8 main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 11MP front camera. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL can have a 50MP Samsung GNV sensor, 48MP ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses, and a 48MP front camera perfect for photography enthusiasts. A new color palette adds more flair to the lineup. The Pixel 10 could be available in Obsidian, Iris, Blue, and Limoncello, with the Pro models available in Obsidian, Green, Sterling, and Porcelain. This new palette provides users with more saturated options while retaining old favorites.


When it comes to prices, the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro should continue last year's prices of ₹80,000, whereas the Pro XL might get a minor hike to ₹1,01,700. With flagship features, premium build, and Android's slickest UI, the Pixel 10 series is prepping to be Google's most comprehensive smartphone lineup to date.
