Google Search Console now lets creators monitor Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube content performance in Google Search through the new Platform Properties feature.

There have been notable improvements in Google Search Console, allowing it to support more than just website functionality. Thanks to Platform Properties, one can now track how content posted on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube performs in Google Search and Discover.
This is a significant milestone in aiding creators to know how people find their social media posts using Google Search. Unlike before when one had to depend on the analytical data provided by every platform separately, creators can now access specific search metrics including clicks, impressions, and search queries via Google Search Console.
Google Search Console Now Supports Social Media Platform Properties
Google announced that it is introducing Platform Properties, a new Search Console property type designed specifically for social media and video platforms. Once a supported account is verified, users can access detailed performance insights for their content without owning the platform's domain.
Initially, Google supports four major platforms:
Instagram
TikTok
X (formerly Twitter)
YouTube
This is a notable change because Search Console has traditionally been limited to websites and domains that users own or manage. With Platform Properties, creators can now verify their official social media profiles and gain access to valuable Google Search performance data.
Performance Reports Show Clicks, Impressions, and Search Queries
One of the main changes that comes with the Performance Report is the ability to use Platform Properties.
It will enable users to look at several different SEO metrics such as the total number of clicks, impressions, and other performance metrics for their social media content on Google Search results pages. Moreover, the Performance Report enables users to filter data according to specific posts or search queries and thereby helps them know about the most performing content.
This feature is going to benefit many marketers and SEO experts who want to track social media performance along with web performance.
Insights Report Provides an Easy Performance Overview
The Insights Report from Google has also been expanded to include Platform Properties.
In this part, there is a brief explanation of traffic patterns, the best-performing posts, and how your content has been found through Google search. Creators do not need to sift through numbers; instead, they will be able to determine which content performs well.
This is especially helpful for YouTubers, Instagrammers, and brands who post content on different platforms.
Achievements Track Growth Milestones
The Achievements tab in Search Console is also improved to include Platform Properties.
Users will be notified about achieving specific milestones, which are related to Google Search performance for the last 28 days. This can include, for example, hitting certain click milestones. Achievements offer an easy way to keep track of account progress and recognize significant milestones.
How to Add a Platform Property in Google Search Console
Google has shared a straightforward process for adding a Platform Property to Search Console:
Open Google Search Console.
Go to the Property Selector and click Add Property.
Select one of the supported platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube.
Complete the on-screen verification process to securely authorize your account.
Google says the feature will roll out gradually over the coming weeks, so not every user will see the option immediately. Interestingly, some users have reported that their X profile appeared automatically without requiring manual verification.
This is not Google’s first effort to incorporate social media analytics in Search Console. In 2025, the company launched Social Channels under the Search Console Insights, giving minimal visibility about social content analytics.
However, the Platform Properties tool is a far superior solution in that it incorporates social media analytics in Search Console Performance Reports, Insights, and Achievements.
It is also important to mention that this launch is not connected with the recently introduced Search Profiles and Search Profile Insights by Google.
The capability of being able to track the performance of Instagram posts, YouTube videos, TikTok posts, and X posts in Google Search represents a tremendous enhancement for creators, publishers, and digital marketers.
Google enables users to see which search queries bring visitors to your social channels, learn how your content shows up in Google Search, and analyze engagement with your content from a search point of view without being dependent on platform metrics.
The most fascinating thing about this update is that users will be able to verify content published on the platforms they do not own through Search Console, which used to be impossible before. As Google keeps increasing the presence of social content in its search results, this tool will become extremely valuable.
