Finally, Rockstar Games is ready to share more details about GTA 6 after giving out limited details before. This is all that you need to know regarding the new clip, release time, and where to view it.

Now that more than a year has passed after the release of the latest Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, Rockstar Games is getting ready to relaunch its promotional campaign on the biggest ever anticipated video game. The company promises to reveal more about Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look as many fans are expecting to receive new details on the upcoming game.
The developer has been quite silent concerning GTA 6 since it released its second trailer, maintaining its usual secrecy policy when it comes to revealing details on its future products. However, this time Rockstar Games will share its new findings during its next big event that is scheduled to take place on August 27, 2026.
GTA 6 Extended Look Will Premiere on Netflix
What is most surprising about this new presentation from Rockstar is the way in which it is being distributed. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will have its premiere on Netflix on August 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET, after which it will be made available via other mediums the same day at 9:00 p.m. ET.
This means that Indian viewers will be able to see this on Netflix sometime during the early hours of August 28, followed by the YouTube version some hours later. The distribution strategy has caused quite an uproar among fans of Grand Theft Auto, especially since viewers who wish to view the presentation as it is premiered will require an account on Netflix.
However, the six-hour window gives people enough time to find alternate ways of watching the footage as it is premiered.
What Will Rockstar Show in the Extended Look?
There is no official information about what exactly will be presented at this event. This fact is probably the most intriguing part about this announcement, as Rockstar revealed almost nothing from their upcoming game.
The very name of this presentation "An Extended Look" implies that this is going to be something more substantial than a regular movie trailer. Even though Rockstar did not call it an extended walk-through, fans can hope to see some extended gameplay during the presentation.
Some of the most interesting parts of the presentation might include the looks at Vice City, Leonida, Jason and Lucia, driving, combat, exploring, dealing with police and the systems of the game world. Rockstar's official website of GTA VI reveals the fact that in the game players will see the story of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos getting involved into some criminal schemes in Leonida.
Even a couple of minutes of uninterrupted gameplay would give more information about the game than all of Rockstar's trailers combined.
GTA 6 Fans Have Been Waiting a Long Time
This is an understandable feeling. The first trailer for GTA VI was released in December 2023, and the second one in May 2025. After that, the company has been revealing more and more information about the game through trailers and some other material, but there have been no gameplay demonstrations for this video game.
That is why the presentation on August 27 is very important. In contrast to trailers, which have already been seen by fans, now Rockstar may reveal something that is related to actual gameplay.
The official page of the game says that GTA VI will be released on November 19, 2026.
Rockstar's GTA 6 Marketing Campaign Is Finally Beginning
This could be seen as the start of an even greater promotional push in the run-up to the game’s release. According to Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the upcoming presentation is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the promotional build-up surrounding this release.
This makes perfect sense considering how close the release date is now to being finalized. As previously stated, the game is due to release on November 19th, thus Rockstar is now well into its final push towards one of the biggest entertainment launches in decades.
The timing may even mean that this August presentation is the start of a series of revelations surrounding the game's release. This could include a number of trailers, character and gameplay videos, and even more promotional material in the lead up to launch.
Will GTA 6 Finally Show Real Gameplay?
It is the biggest concern regarding the release on August 27.
At present, it has not been revealed by Rockstar that the Extended Look will be a game-play reveal. Therefore, it is expected that one should be careful regarding expectations from the game. However, given the format of extended gameplay, it becomes sensible to anticipate something that is way more substantive than trailers released so far.
The gamers would certainly like to see how the GTA VI game works. Rockstar has already shown a commendable standard of visual detailing in its previous videos, but extended gameplay might tell about the game workings while gamers take control of it.
Gameplay aspects such as driving mechanics, shooting, character switching, NPCs behavior, interaction with environment, and scale of Leonida will help gamers understand the game design at its best.
GTA 6 Extended Look Release Time
The presentation is set to premiere on Netflix at 3:00 p.m. ET on August 27, after which it will be released on the official Rockstar YouTube channel and GTA VI website at 9:00 p.m. ET.
For Indian audiences, the Netflix premiere will occur on the early hours of August 28, after which the YouTube release will follow.
Given that GTA VI is expected to drop on November 19, this event can easily turn out to be one of the most significant in its entire marketing campaign up till date. After years of build-up and lengthy silence from Rockstar, fans will finally have a closer look at what could turn out to be the game-defining title of the generation. Right now, however, there is one main thing left unanswered - how much gameplay will be shown at all?
