GTA 6 Pre-Orders Go Live as Rockstar Confirms Price, Editions, and Launch Details

Rockstar has officially revealed GTA 6 pricing, pre-order details, editions, and bonuses ahead of its November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Here’s everything you need to know about the Standard and Ultimate Editions, preload access, and Rockstar’s latest update.

GTA 6

For several months of speculations, Rockstar Games has nailed all the information that millions of players were awaiting for. The pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI start from June 25 at midnight, and together with that, Rockstar announced the final price of the game, editions available, bonuses for preorder, and release date. GTA 6 is now supposed to be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

It should be noted that such a confirmation is crucial for several reasons. In particular, the pricing of GTA 6 became one of the most debated topics in the whole gaming industry during last months. Many people were sure that Rockstar would break the industry by launching the game at a higher than $100 price. However, Rockstar made a decision to take the more moderate way. Namely, the Standard Edition of GTA 6 will cost $79.99, which equals approximately ₹7,543, while the Ultimate Edition will cost $100 or ₹9,430. Thus, GTA 6 is still priced higher than a common price of $70, which can be observed for most of AAA releases.

The pricing policy from Rockstar seems to be purposeful. The company is well aware that GTA 6 is one of the most wanted video games in history, and there was enough hype around the project so that many people were expecting that Rockstar will see how much they can push the premium prices up. Charging $79.99 for the standard version of the game allows to increase the barrier significantly while making sure that the base edition of the game remains accessible for most console gamers.

Apart from the base version of GTA 6, Rockstar is planning to release an Ultimate Edition as well. As the company states, it will include the bundle of various digital content that will provide gamers with an improved gaming experience from the very first days. People who buy the Ultimate Edition will get access to premium cars, exclusive weapons, special outfits, and other digital extras associated with the in-game world. Rockstar has not revealed all details regarding the Ultimate Edition, but it is clear that it is going to be the premium edition of GTA 6.

The Rockstar company has also detailed how the process of pre-ordering and pre-loading will take place and there is one surprising aspect for some buyers in relation to this. Those purchasing the digital version of GTA 6 will get the chance to pre-load the game from November 12, one week prior to the release date. The buyers will get an opportunity to download the files beforehand, and will be able to play the game the moment it gets unlocked for play on November 19. But the company has made it clear that the physical version of GTA 6 will not have the game disc when it releases. Buyers will get a code which will enable them to download the digital version of the game, starting from November 12.

This strategy shows the overall development trend within the gaming industry as even physical copies become more like code-in-a-box games instead of conventional disc-based games. Considering the scale of GTA 6 that is supposed to be one of the biggest games of all time, Rockstar might consider convenience and preparation better than releasing a physical disc release. Nevertheless, such a choice will not satisfy collectors and fans who prefer owning physical discs instead of digital ones, especially in case of such a legendary game as Grand Theft Auto.

In addition to a special discount, Rockstar also offers a bonus DLC pack for those gamers who preorder one of the two versions of the game. Those people who will buy any of these two editions before November 20 will get the Vintage Vice City Pack for free. Although Rockstar did not specify all details about the DLC, the name of the bonus clearly shows that it includes some sort of themed content related to the game and its atmosphere. As GTA 6 returns to Vice City atmosphere, this bonus DLC pack can be interesting for many long-time fans.

An equally important thing that we can take from the last Rockstar announcement is that which won’t be there from the beginning. Rockstar made it clear that GTA Online will not be released together with GTA 6. The first release of the game was called by Rockstar as “single-player experience,” which clearly means that at first, the attention will be drawn to the single player story and world created for the main characters, Jason and Lucia. There is an obvious plan of releasing something online at some other time in the future, which was confirmed by Rockstar and they said that details of those plans will be discussed later. It is a very important point considering how successful GTA Online became for Rockstar and people believed that everything will be there from the beginning.

In addition to the pre-order information and price unveiling, Rockstar Games revealed new screenshots featuring some parts of GTA 6's game world. This time players get a chance to learn more about Jason and Lucia, their vehicles, different clothing, tattoos, and environmental details in the game world. Although Rockstar Games keeps many things secret, new screenshots give even stronger evidence of how detailed and realistic GTA 6 wants to become. Judging by everything that can be seen so far, it looks like Rockstar Games pays much attention to immersion, realism, and the unique style of the game world.

This path has not been completely easy. GTA 6 was delayed twice during the game development process, which increased the tension and anticipation around this video game title. However, now that the pre-ordering process for the game has begun, its pricing strategy has been determined, and its release date is known, it seems that Rockstar is indicating that the game is approaching the finish line. Even more, the company calls GTA 6 as the video game that might become the biggest game launch in the history of the industry, and taking into account what kind of brand we are talking about, this might not be an understatement.

The reason why this particular point is so significant is because it turns the game that was nothing more than a promise into a real product, which actually gets a scheduled date of release, pricing information, and some bonuses associated with purchasing the game on launch day. There are obviously still many things left unknown about the upcoming title, especially when it comes to GTA Online or even the Ultimate Edition, but at least now there is a lot more clarity compared to several days ago.

At the moment, however, the key message is very simple – GTA 6 pre-orders are available, the price of Standard Edition is $79.99, Ultimate Edition costs $100, and the company clearly hopes to make a huge splash by releasing the game on November 19. The only question now remains whether such price is justifiable given the scope of the title, but the fact is certain – the countdown has just entered a new phase.
