Infinix Hot 70 Pro Launched in India With Customisable Rear Display and 144Hz Screen

Infinix Hot 70 Pro is now available for purchase in India at a price tag of Rs 24,999. The phone has a 144Hz Full HD+ screen, MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip, 50MP Sony IMX882 lens, 6,000mAh battery along with a special Active Matrix Cube rear display.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro

The latest addition to Infinix's Hot-series range of phones for India is Infinix Hot 70 Pro, which packs an appealing look, a high refresh rate display and some interesting features into a smartphone priced under Rs 30,000. The phone is targeted at younger audiences and creative professionals looking for a smartphone that looks unique but is robust as well as performs like a regular smartphone.

The most noteworthy aspect about the Hot 70 Pro is the design on the rear side of the phone. Infinix offers several colour variants with distinct finishes, and every colour variant is accompanied by a secondary small display panel at the back of the phone. The manufacturer has touted the phone as its first-ever Hot-series smartphone with this Active Matrix Cube display.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro Price in India and Sale Date

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro is available in two variants in terms of storage capacity in India. While the one having 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is priced at Rs 24,999, the other with 8GB RAM + 128GB comes for Rs 27,999. So, this phone competes in a segment where brands like POCO and Motorola are offering devices with huge battery life and high refresh rate screens.

This smartphone has four different colour options namely Thermo Orange, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple and Dive Blue. Infinix has differentiated each colour in terms of visual identity. For example, the colour Thermo Orange changes according to temperature; Mirage Green changes its look in the dark whereas Silk Glow Purple changes the pattern according to the orientation of phone. Dive Blue, on the other hand, offers a subtle matte finish.

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro will officially launch from September 7 via Flipkart. Customers who make payment via Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI Bank credit or debit card will be able to avail a cash discount of Rs 2,000 on purchase. Users can preorder the smartphone via Infinix official website.

144Hz Full HD+ Display on the Infinix Hot 70 Pro

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro comes with a 6.76 inches Full HD+ LCD screen and has a 1080 x 2344 resolution. The phone is equipped with a 144Hz refresh rate, making its scroll, animations, and gaming performance smoother than that of 60Hz displays.

The Always On Display mode has been used by Infinix even though it utilizes the LCD screen. This feature becomes active when one takes hold of the device and enables the display of information like the time, date and notifications without having to turn the whole display on.

There is 910 nits of maximum brightness in HBM and 760 nits in normal brightness. In theory, this could make the display quite workable outdoors but give the phone more clarity than other HD+ phones in the same price segment.

MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Powers the Hot 70 Pro

Inside the phone, there is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. It is also available in the Infinix Note Edge, and according to the specifications provided on the official website, it is supposed to be quite decent for regular use and social networking as well as some games.

For medium gaming, the phone is likely to run games like BGMI and Clash Royale without any problems with proper settings. Therefore, it is not a gaming phone, but rather a phone that provides high performance for general purposes with the 144Hz refresh rate and a good Dimensity chipset.

50MP Sony Camera Takes Centre Stage

Another feature of the Infinix phone that seems to be concentrated on hardware is photography. The Infinix Hot 70 Pro comes with a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera and a 1/1.95-inch sensor. It should be noted that a rather large sensor is especially interesting for this price range because the size of a sensor may affect the photo quality.

In comparison with other phones that have 50MP but smaller sensors, the phone equipped with the large IMX882 sensor is expected to produce sharper photos and videos in terms of low lighting conditions. Besides the main camera, the smartphone is equipped with a front camera of 8MP resolution.

Also, it is possible to shoot 2K video with a speed of 30 fps. This function is available in both the rear and front cameras. This may attract potential buyers who actively use social media.

Android 16 and XOS 16 Bring More Customisation

On the software end, the Infinix Hot 70 Pro is powered by Android 16-based XOS 16. Infinix has introduced numerous customization options for both the home screen and lock screen that can help personalize the user interface to one's liking.

Furthermore, the Infinix Hot 70 Pro is powered by various artificial intelligence functions from Infinix, such as the AI Call Assistant, AI Writing, AI Recording Summary, and AI Subtitles, which are there to facilitate one's everyday activities with the help of their smartphone.

XOS Customization along with AI functions go hand in hand with Infinix's approach towards attracting younger audiences.

6,000mAh Battery With 45W Charging

It has a 6,000mAh capacity battery that supports 45W fast charging technology. Even though this capacity should be enough for everyone, the phone does struggle when we talk about the battery department as far as capacity is concerned.

Thus, there is a POCO M8 Power that has an 8,000mAh capacity battery and Moto G77 Power which has a 7,000mAh battery cell. It means that the battery capacity can be seen as a drawback of this phone as compared to its competitors.

However, it is possible to say that this capacity together with the Dimensity 7100 and an LCD screen should offer decent endurance for regular usage.

Active Matrix Cube Is the Phone's Biggest Design Highlight

One of the unique features of the Infinix Hot 70 Pro is the Active Matrix Cube (AMC). The small display is located on the back of the device and displays notifications and incoming calls and messages. Moreover, one can customise the display with one's creations, making it another way to personalise the device.

It resembles the previous creation of Infinix from the Note 60 Pro family but in miniature form, thus giving the phone the identity that is missing among most conventional smartphones of the same price range.

What is more, the Hot 70 Pro is IP68 water and dust resistant. Another nice thing is that the device has its own slot for a microSD card separate from the SIM card slots.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro vs POCO M8 Power vs Moto G77 Power

Infinix Hot 70 Pro priced at Rs 24,999 competes in the same league with POCO M8 Power and Moto G77 Power which make for interesting competition as they follow different paths which helps highlight the pros and cons of Infinix smartphone.

POCO M8 Power has a better display than Infinix Hot 70 Pro because of AMOLED panel but its biggest strength lies in battery life because it has a 8,000mAh battery pack. POCO M8 Power is a perfect phone for people who like AMOLED display and long battery life. The POCO M8 Power has a 50MP primary camera that features a smaller 1/2.76-inch sensor.

Moto G77 Power comes with a bigger 7,000mAh battery and it also has a higher 144Hz refresh rate, however, its LCD panel is limited to HD+ resolution whereas Infinix Hot 70 Pro offers a much better Full HD+ panel.

Should You Buy the Infinix Hot 70 Pro?

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro seems to be a decent balance in the under-Rs 25,000 smartphone category, especially for those consumers who seek something unique compared to the generic smartphones with glass/metal bodies. The 144Hz Full HD+ display, Dimensity 7100 chipset, 50MP Sony IMX882 camera, and IP68 certification provide solid hardware.

However, the device's most appealing feature appears to be its design. The temperature-sensitive, pattern-changing, and matte finishes, along with the Active Matrix Cube rear display of the Hot 70 Pro, ensure that it will be unique in the market.

The 6,000 mAh battery capacity is slightly less than offered by some competing phones; and 45 W charging support is also far from being class leading. Nevertheless, if distinctive design, display quality, and customisation are more important features for you than the maximum battery capacity, then the Infinix Hot 70 Pro could be among the most intriguing options around Rs 25,000.
