iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Launched in India
Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India with the new A20 Pro chip, upgraded 48MP camera, LTPO+ display and improved battery life.

This is the official launch of the latest iPhones from Apple, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This year’s launch of the iPhones is very different from the regular iPhone launch by Apple since the company has launched only the Pro variants of the iPhone along with its first-ever foldable iPhone called the iPhone Ultra. It has been reported that the standard iPhone 18 will be launched in March next year along with the iPhone 18e.
Although the first foldable iPhone from Apple is the real highlight of this year’s iPhone launch, the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have also seen a number of upgrades for themselves. Some of the improvements in the latest Pro iPhone include a new A20 Pro chipset, improved displays, new colours, camera, thermal management, and more.
iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max Price in India and Availability
The price tag for the iPhone 18 Pro model will be set at Rs 1,64,900, while that for the iPhone 18 Pro Max model will be Rs 1,79,900. The new iPhone 18 Pro series will have options for 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB storage space.
Both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will come with Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black colors. However, both models can be pre-ordered in India from 5:30 PM on September 12, whereas the release date for the phones is set to be September 18.

512GB | Rs 1,89,900 | Rs 2,04,900 |

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Specifications
The iPhone 18 Pro includes a display measuring 6.3 inches while the iPhone 18 Pro Max offers a display measuring 6.9 inches. This screen size remains the same as the previous generation but the new iPhone models include LTPO+ display technology. According to reports, the new panel technology is said to be more efficient in terms of power consumption compared to the LTPO panels on the iPhone 17 Pro models.
As expected, the iPhone 18 Pro design looks familiar since Apple keeps the same design as in previous generations and uses the same large camera plateau on the back. But the manufacturer has added a new palette of colours to choose this year. The available colours are Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black while Dark Cherry looks like one of the most interesting among these new shades. It is worth noting that iPhones come with colour-coordinated aluminium frame and back glass.
One more thing which is worth paying attention to is the Dynamic Island. Apple managed to make it smaller on the iPhone 18 Pro models while improving its functionality at the same time. The new Dynamic Island is capable of showing up to three live activities at once.
A20 Pro Chipset Brings Faster Performance
Under the hood, however, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max rely on the newly announced A20 Pro chip set from Apple. It is constructed through a 2nm production process, with the result that it provides up to 20 percent improvement in performance when compared to its predecessor.
In addition, the new chip introduces the next generation of a neural engine that is geared toward the on-device AI computing. This means that the new phones will be capable of dealing better with the AI-related functionalities without depending on cloud processing as much.
Sustained performance has been a focus point for Apple. The new Pro line of iPhones boasts the next-generation vapour chamber, which is three times larger by surface area than the one found on iPhone 17 Pro. According to the company, this means that we are dealing with the best sustained performance on iPhones.
Bigger Battery Improvements
Battery life is yet another important feature of the iPhone 18 Pro family. According to Apple, the iPhone 18 Pro could provide users with 24 hours of performance on a single charge, whereas the iPhone 18 Pro Max could deliver up to 30 hours of battery life.
It is worth mentioning that the regular iPhone 18 Pro is expected to provide similar battery life as the iPhone 17 Pro Max, whereas the iPhone 18 Pro Max is claimed to bring the largest-ever battery life boost for any iPhone model.
The combination of such innovative features as the LTPO+ screen, a new 2 nm chipset, and advanced thermal management architecture may be helpful here.
48MP Main Camera Gets Variable Aperture
Apple has improved the main camera system in iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max as well. Both of these devices boast the latest 48MP Fusion Main camera, but the most important thing is that now it includes variable aperture.
While fixed aperture in the smartphones' cameras doesn't give much freedom for adjustments and doesn't allow to manipulate the amount of light going inside the sensor, now Apple has introduced the mechanism of mechanically opening and closing the lens. This may prove quite useful in low light conditions.
iPhone 18 Pro models also include the latest Pro camera controls, which gives more freedom to the user in manipulating his photo settings manually. This innovation will surely be appreciated by those users who prefer manual mode to the automatic one.
Should You Upgrade to the iPhone 18 Pro?
In many ways, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max make considerable improvements in those aspects of a flagship phone that count. The chipset promises improved performance, and the bigger vapor chamber would allow the device to sustain its performance for a longer period. The new 48 MP variable-aperture camera and longer battery life are other important improvements.
Nevertheless, those who are already using the iPhone 17 Pro will hardly need to buy the new device immediately as there is no guarantee that the difference in performance and battery life will be substantial enough for them.
On the other hand, those who are planning to switch to a new model from a previous generation of the iPhone would have an excellent reason to buy the new Pro model. This time, the Pro models compete for customers' attention with Apple's first foldable iPhone. Therefore, this year's launch can be considered one of the most significant updates to Apple's iPhone range in many years.
