iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max leaks reveal a smaller Dynamic Island, bigger battery, A20 2nm chip, camera upgrades, and expected India pricing.

Although Apple's next big iPhone release is several months ahead, information regarding Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max leaks have given us a glimpse of what Apple might offer in 2026. As per Apple's pattern, the iPhone 18 lineup will likely launch in September, and fans of Apple across the globe have been waiting eagerly for that.

It seems that this year's lineup of iPhones may vary greatly from the previous ones. According to some reports, Apple might postpone releasing the regular iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models to early next year. That way, all eyes will probably be on the iPhone 18 Pro models for some time to come. The majority of leaks and insider reports have also centered on the Pro and Pro Max models, which suggests that Apple might be looking to make some significant changes rather than just providing minimal improvements year after year.

Despite persistent rumors about Apple's first-ever foldable iPhone, most people still opt for a classic iPhone experience. And according to the latest leaks, Apple seems set on improving that experience with extended battery life, enhanced camera, sleeker Dynamic Island, improved performance, and advanced connectivity features.

iPhone 18 Pro Design

It seems that there will be no major changes to the design language of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro range. The flagship smartphones are rumored to retain the premium titanium-like frame and the triple camera configuration on the back of the phone. Nevertheless, there are some rumors about the subtle changes to the design, including an improved transition between the frame and the back glass.

There might be a major change when it comes to the front design of the new iPhones. Several sources revealed that Apple will work on decreasing the size of the Dynamic Island. Previously, people believed that Apple would use the under-display technology for Face ID, but it seems like the company is not yet prepared for such a move.

Therefore, the only thing that can be done is shrinking the Dynamic Island in order to give users more display real estate and make their viewing experience better. According to a famous leaker known as Ice Universe, the Dynamic Island of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup might get around 35% thinner than the current one.

Display

As per rumors, Apple will be using the same display sizes this time around. The iPhone 18 Pro might come with a 6.3-inch display size, whereas the Pro Max variant might come with a huge 6.9-inch display.

But, Apple can launch its latest LTPO+ display technology. This display panel is supposed to offer enhanced energy efficiency, better refresh rate management, and optimized battery usage. Even without any changes to display sizes, users can expect their devices to last long.

Bigger Battery

Battery life can once again become one of the most notable aspects of the Pro Max variant. Leaks indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a battery of 5,100mAh to 5,200mAh.

This is in comparison with the 5,088mAh battery used by the older model. While the improvement might seem modest when looked at in numbers, together with Apple's 2nm chip technology and screen efficiency, it might bring about a substantial boost in battery performance.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max can also be slightly thicker compared to its predecessor. The phone is expected to have a thickness of 8.8mm as opposed to 8.75mm. Apple seems to be making use of the extra space inside the phone to incorporate the increased battery capacity. Battery specifications for the Pro version are not yet known.

Major Camera Upgrades

According to reports, there are some crucial camera upgrades that Apple plans to make for the iPhone 18 Pro series. One of the most exciting camera features can be the ability to have a variable aperture system in the main camera sensor.

In other words, it will give users the ability to adjust how much light is entering the camera sensor. Consequently, people will have more control over exposure, background blur, and even low light photography.

Another piece of information indicates that Apple might use the new three-layer stacked image sensor made by Samsung. The sensor is claimed to increase image response time, decrease noise, and increase dynamic range in photos.

The telephoto camera will also get an upgrade as it will have a bigger aperture for improved low light zoom photography. Another report says that Apple will work on a teleconverter-like camera technology.

Apple’s New A20 Chip

The A20 chipset from Apple is anticipated to serve as the power source for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. According to sources, the chipset will be produced using the advanced 2nm manufacturing process by TSMC.

According to reports, the new chipset could offer up to 15 percent faster processing speed and 30 percent enhanced energy efficiency over the previous generation.

Apple is also said to be employing a novel chip packaging technique referred to as WMCM. In this technique, RAM is packaged alongside other processor parts. The new chip packing technique can enhance Apple Intelligence capabilities, lower power consumption, and free up more space inside.

Apple May Finally Improve 5G and Satellite Connectivity

Connectivity improvements are also anticipated in 2023. The iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to incorporate the latest C2 modem from Apple. According to rumors, the modem will supposedly include compatibility with mmWave 5G technology and enhanced satellite connectivity options.

In an interesting development, Apple may even go beyond emergency communications by adding satellite internet connectivity to their iPhones. It is speculated that future iPhones will provide some internet connectivity through satellite connections in places where network coverage is unavailable.

If such features are introduced, they could prove to be very handy for travelers and people working remotely in areas with poor cellular connectivity.

New Colour Options

Apple could roll out some new color choices for the iPhone 18 Pro series. Among the many leaked colors, there is one called dark cherry that is gaining a lot of popularity.

As per the descriptions, the new dark cherry color is a reddish color with some hints of purple, providing a more sophisticated look to the phone. Some other leaked colors for the iPhone 18 Pro include light blue, dark grey, and silver.

iPhone 18 Pro India Price Leak

One of the most important concerns regarding the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series is the price factor. Fortunately, leaked information suggests that Apple may skip significant price hikes this year despite all the improvements to the hardware. According to popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it seems that Apple will not significantly increase the price of its flagship phones this year. It might be due to the recent price increase of iPhones 17 Pro series in 2025 by around Rs 5,000 in India.

An immediate hike in prices may not bode well for sales in the Indian market, which is quite price sensitive regarding premium smartphones.

As per some reports, the iPhone 17 has been very successful worldwide in the first quarter of 2026. It was even named among the world's bestselling smartphones during the period by research firm Counterpoint Research.

The starting price of iPhone 17 Pro in India is Rs 1,34,900, whereas iPhone 17 Pro Max was released for Rs 1,49,900. Apple might stick to this pricing strategy, and the iPhone 18 Pro lineup may also debut around the same price range.

Why Apple May Avoid Raising Prices

However, keeping prices stable may be challenging for Apple. It seems that the newly launched 2nm A20 chipset will cost Apple much more to produce than its predecessors. The advanced semiconductors' manufacturing expenses have been growing worldwide along with the emergence of new manufacturing technologies.

Moreover, memory components prices are also on the rise all over the world. Some smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Nothing have already raised prices for some products.

Nevertheless, experts predict that Apple may still cover a part of the increased manufacturing expenses in order to keep the positive sales momentum in key regions. For instance, analyst Jeff Pu claims that Apple may apply an aggressive pricing strategy towards the new iPhone 18 Pro models, offering unchanged prices or just slightly higher ones.

At the moment, the iPhone 17 Pro is available for $1,099 in the US, whereas the Pro Max model is priced at $1,199. Thus, if Apple avoids raising prices again, the iPhone 18 Pro series will become even more appealing for premium smartphone consumers.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup could turn out to be among the most interesting Apple upgrades in recent years. With a downsized Dynamic Island, better cameras, an advanced 2nm chipset, and possibly a bigger battery, it seems that Apple has its sights set on making some significant improvements rather than insignificant cosmetic changes.

However, at this point, all this information comes from leaks and rumors, so Apple can modify some things before releasing its latest devices. But with only a few months left until the scheduled release in September, chances are high that much more information will come to light very soon.

Should these rumors prove true, then the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will certainly offer a more compelling upgrade experience for those looking to make the move to Apple's upcoming flagship handsets.
