iQOO 15 Ultra Tipped to Redefine Flagships With Gaming Hardware 2K Display and 100W Charging

The iQOO seems to be gearing up to change its approaches in flagships for 2026 with the launch of its first-ever "Ultra" series smartphone. The new iQOO 15 Ultra has already created hype in the market even before its announcement, as it has made an appearance in new certification spots and leaks. This shows that iQOO has clearly shifted its approaches in making new flagships in the market to enter into the "Ultra" range of competition, which has robust competitors.

iQOO 15 Ultra Spotted on Certification Platforms

The iQOO 15 Ultra recently popped up on China's 3C certification platform, confirmation of support for blazing-fast 100W charging. Early certification like this is usually a good indication that the device is close to launching. Of course, other confirmations already pointed toward a release window before mid-February, and this latest appearance has strengthened such claims. As anticipation starts to build, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared several key specifications on Weibo, showing a clear picture of what iQOO's first Ultra smartphone will bring with it.

Display Designed with Gamers in Mind

As per the leaked information, the iQOO 15 Ultra will come equipped with an enormous 6.85-inch Samsung M14 display, flaunting a crisp 2K resolution and an astonishing 144Hz refresh rate. What’s more, it has been noticed that iQOO has decided to go for a flat display in their offering, contrary to the curved ones generally used in Ultra series flagships. Indeed, this move might go in favor of gamers, giving them an improved experience, courtesy of their flat display, which tends to cause fewer touches compared to other curved ones. Additionally, flat displays have now started to make their way back in gaming-centric handsets, iQOO’s latest choice not being an exception.

Dual-Chip Performance Strategy

Under the hood, the iQOO 15 Ultra is tipped to run on Qualcomm's latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This, however, gets even more exciting with iQOO's in-house Q3 gaming chip inside for company, a combination already seen on the iQOO 15. This results in a better framing rate, improved sustained performance, and controlled power efficiency after long hours of gaming. While iQOO has experimented with dual-chip systems before, bringing it into an Ultra model suggests a serious focus on long-term performance rather than just peak benchmark numbers.

Balanced Camera Setup

Unlike some of those Ultra smartphones that majorly focus on photography, the iQOO 15 Ultra seems to take a more systemized route. It does indeed show up with a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom in the leak. Although that may not scream "camera-first flagship," it does hint at quite a bit of versatility targeted at users who want reliable zoom capabilities without sacrificing performance or battery life. That fits the core audience at iQOO quite well, which often values gaming and everyday usability just about as much as camera performance.

Massive Battery and Wireless Charging

Another area where the iQOO 15 Ultra seems to look competitive is battery life. This latest flagship is said to pack up to a 7,000mAh battery, or even larger, paired with wired charging and wireless charging support. The baseline expectation for fast charging in modern flagships has mostly been met at this scale, but the competition in the space is growing fierce. Brands like OnePlus have even gone all-in on endurance-the OnePlus Turbo 6 series in China reportedly features a massive 9,000mAh battery. In contrast, iQOO's strategy here seems to be about striking that right balance of battery size, charging speed, and overall device ergonomics.

Built-In Cooling Fan

What makes the iQOO 15 Ultra truly different from regular flagships in terms of hardware is its gaming-centric upgrades. The suspected features of this upcoming smartphone include an in-built cooling system, which is typical of gaming phones, and also comes with physical shoulder triggers that one can use for taking shots in games or for pointing. These kinds of features might seem trivial to regular users, but rather show that the manufacturer's aim for an Ultra phone that balances gaming performance rather than going fully into gaming phones.

With what appears to be the launch merely approaching, what seems apparent about the device is it’s going to be a serious option for any gamer wanting world-class processing performance, a first-class display, quick charging capabilities, and novel “gaming hardware,” as well as coming in a decently well-rounded smartphone format. Gamers wanting most from their device’s battery life might still want to consider other models for now, such as the OnePlus Turbo 6 (announced for international markets as the Nord 6), but there may well be a market niche for this device as well.

If itQOO is to pursue taking this particular model global, it could give rise to a huge disruption in the global market of flagships. For the time being, every eye is on the launch event where itQOO is going to take its inaugural plunge into the world of these particular flagships.
