Lava India has once again reaffirmed its dedication to providing feature-rich smartphones at affordable price points with the introduction of two new handsets in the Storm family Lava Storm Play 5G and Lava Storm Lite 5G. These handsets are set to redefine performance and innovation for the sub-₹10,000 segment. Preeminently, the Lava Storm Play 5G is the world's first smartphone to boast the new MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor, and thus its launch is a milestone for Lava as well as for the Indian smartphone industry.
The star of the launch is certainly the Lava Storm Play 5G, which arrives with the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset. This is the first time the chipset is being implemented on a commercially launched smartphone worldwide. The phone comes along with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, a combination of which is quite uncommon in this segment. Lava has loaded this phone with high-end memory and storage technology, making it perfect for gaming, multi-tasking, and long-term performance.
Coming loaded with the latest Android 15 OS, the Storm Play 5G offers a pure and refreshed user interface. The phone features a 6.75-inch HD+ screen with a support for 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling smooth, animations improved, and the visual experience lag-free. Be it video watching or gaming, the screen is capable enough to offer sharp visuals and great responsiveness.

The camera setup in the Lava Storm Play 5G also is impressive, considering its price tag. The back module features a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor, which delivers detailed and vibrant images during the day and decent quality at night in low light. A secondary 2MP sensor is assisted with the main lens for portraits. For selfies and video calls, an 8MP front camera is provided.
Budget users are particularly worried about battery life, and Lava deals with this by providing a 5000mAh battery, which will easily last for the whole day when used moderately to heavily. The phone has fast charging support for 18W through USB Type-C. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the side for convenient unlocking and an IP64 rating for rudimentary dust and water splash protection.
Coming alongside the Storm Play is the slightly cheaper Lava Storm Lite 5G, priced at just ₹7999. In spite of the lower cost, the phone doesn't skimp quite so much. It features the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor, a decent 5G chipset for daily chores and smooth multitasking. The smartphone features 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, providing plenty of space and juice for light users.
Similar to its older brother, the Storm Lite 5G also features a 6.75-inch HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing a similarly smooth viewing experience. The design and build remain the same, so it is challenging to tell the two devices apart at first glance.

Optics-wise, the Lava Storm Lite 5G is identical to that of the Play variant with the 50MP Sony IMX752 rear camera sensor. The phone also has a 2MP depth sensor for taking portraits. For selfies and video calls, though, the selfie camera is slightly downgraded to a 5MP front shooter, which should be good enough.
Battery-wise, the Storm Lite 5G has the same 5000mAh cell but with 15W charging support rather than 18W. It also supports Android 15, so it is future-proof and bloatware-free. With IP64 protection, users enjoy extra peace of mind when operating the device in harsh environments.
Lava has launched these devices very competitively priced. Lava Storm Play 5G with 6GB RAM and 128GB capacity is priced at just ₹9999 and goes on sale from 19th June 2025 at 12 PM IST only through Amazon India. It comes in a fashionable Blue color.
While the other option, Lava Storm Lite 5G with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, will be available at ₹7999 and can be purchased from 24th June 2025 at 12 PM IST, also on Amazon. This phone will be available in two beautiful colors Astral Blue and Cosmic Titanium.
Commenting on the launch, Sumit Singh, Head of Product at Lava International Limited, said:
