Motorola G96

Motorola India is again set to ruffle the mid-range smartphone market. The company has officially teased the launch of a new phone, and although the official name is not confirmed, rumors heavily indicate the Moto G96. A dedicated microsite is live on Flipkart, featuring a silhouette of the new device along with the mysterious tagline "All Eyes on You."

The teaser does not directly verify the name of the phone, but design clues, color options, and chipset information all point to the much-hypothesized Moto G96. Let's dissect all the information that we currently have about this new Motorola phone.

Motorola G96 India Launch Spotted on Flipkart

Motorola's teaser campaign for the latest smartphone has raised eyebrows of tech aficionados all over India. A Flipkart listing provides a subtle glimpse of what might be the Moto G96, featuring a sleek silhouette and a three-color palette violet, blue, and green. These colors are juxtaposed with what seems to be a faux leather texture, lending the phone a high-end feel, particularly in the mid-price segment.

The design also shows slightly curved edges for improved in-hand feel. At the front, the phone has a centered punch-hole cutout with the selfie camera and ultra-thin bezels to offer an immersive display experience. On the right, the phone has a power button and volume rocker.

Turning the phone over to the back, the Moto G96 will probably have dual camera sensors, each in its own independent round camera rings, along with an LED flash. The overall design is a testament to Motorola's shifting design language — clean, contemporary, and optimized for young audiences.

Underwater Tease Suggests Water Resistance

Interestingly enough, the Flipkart microsite poster has the phone half in water, suggesting that Motorola could bring water and dust IP rating to this phone. This might result in either IP65 or IP68 certification, adding in some durability to the style factor something not common in this category.

Confirmed Snapdragon Power

Although the Flipkart teaser is not legally announcing the chipset model, it does state that the new Motorola phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. As per previous rumors and leaks, this chipset may well be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 a powerful and power-efficient SoC with clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz.

If this is true, then the Moto G96 would be a huge leap over its successor, the Moto G85, which was released with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip.
