Nothing is back in the audio space, and this time it is previewing its next-generation truly wireless earbuds, Nothing Ear (3). Today, the firm unveiled the first proper image of its upcoming earbuds, offering enthusiasts and fans a clear view of what to anticipate. Although the design is remarkably close to that of the Ear (2) released in 2023, Nothing has unveiled some interesting upgrades that set the Ear (3) apart from the very competitive TWS (True Wireless Stereo) ecosystem.
One of the biggest features of the Nothing Ear (3) is the charging case, which is now partially made with 100% recycled anodized aluminum. The shift is in line with Nothing's increasingly strong focus on sustainability, presenting a high-end yet eco-friendly construction. In addition, the business has included a Super Mic and a specific "talk" button on the case something missing from the prior generation. Although Nothing has been quiet about the specific reason behind these additions, speculation is rampant. Would the microphone and talk button be reserved only for calling up a smart assistant, or maybe even serve as a wireless mic for creators, like some of DJI's or Insta360's offerings? We'll find out on September 18th, 2025 at 8 AM ET, when Nothing launches the complete specifications officially.
Nothing Ear (3) earbuds maintain the iconic transparent look Nothing is synonymous with, presenting it with a minimalist, futuristic feel. The ergonomic shape is not only for aesthetics but also for a snugger, more secure fit in the ear. Additionally, Nothing has also enhanced the internal hardware, redesigning the metal antenna to have an extremely slim and sexy look without reducing signal quality. Incorporating metal elements further enhances longevity and provides a more upgraded finish for the earbuds than the earlier iteration.
While formal information is limited at the time of writing, speculation and rumors point to the Nothing Ear (3) being shipped with major upgrades from its predecessor. Among the most anticipated upgrades is a dual-driver setup, which should provide richer and more balanced sound quality for fans of bass as well as audiophiles looking for clarity in all frequencies.
Another feature that is to be expected is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which should offer a completely immersive listening experience through the suppression of background noise. In addition to ANC, a natural-sounding transparency mode should also be included, where users remain aware of their environment while not taking out the earbuds.
Touch controls are also apparently improved, allowing users to swipe to change volume, play or pause tracks, and handle calls without having to engage with the phone. Improved battery life is also anticipated, making the Ear (3) a great option for everyday wear.
Nothing has officially announced that the Ear (3) will be launched globally on September 18, 2025, and it is expected to be available in India as well. Given its position as a premium offering, the earbuds are likely to be priced above ₹10,000, though the exact price will be revealed at launch.
When released, the Nothing Ear (3) will directly compete with premium TWS earbuds like the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 and perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 lineup. With its differential design, environmental initiatives, and feature-packed offering, the Ear (3) will appeal to tech enthusiasts and supporters of Nothing's exclusivity brand philosophy.
Nothing is slowly generating hype with teaser shots posted on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, showing intricate design points but reserving significant performance details. Adding a talk button and Super Mic to the Ear (3) makes it interesting, sparking numerous questions regarding possible applications.
If you're eyeing a fresh pair of genuinely wireless earbuds with style, sustainability, and anticipated performance improvements, Nothing Ear (3) is looking like a strong contender this year. Watch out for the official release on September 18, 2025, and tell us in the comments – are you hyped about the Nothing Ear (3)? Do you believe it has what it takes to beat the competition?
