Nothing Phone 4a Series Launch Timeline Leaks Reveal Bigger Plans for Mid Range Buyers

However, nothing has officially come out to state that 2026 will not witness the arrival of a new flagship device from the brand. The Nothing Phone (3) will continue to reign supreme as the flagship device, while the brand focuses on fortifying its mid-range lineup. This move to pause at the top of the lineup indicates that Nothing is focusing on where it thinks it can make the biggest impact the upper mid-range segment. And all indications now point to the Nothing Phone (4a) series being the big focus for the brand this year.

Nothing Phone 4a Series

As per tipster Yogesh Brar, the Nothing Phone (4a) series is set to arrive globally in early March, with March 5 being the rumored date. If this is the case, then it would be in line with the brand’s launch pattern from last year, as the Phone (3a) series also launched around the same time. With the launch window rapidly approaching, it won’t be long before Nothing starts rolling out official teasers.

The coming lineup is rumored to feature two smartphones: the Nothing Phone (4a) and the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. Just like their predecessors, the two devices are expected to target slightly different consumers, yet with the same design language and software ideology. This time, however, Nothing is rumored to be aiming for a “flagship-like” experience, even if that means slightly higher pricing.

Among the confirmed upgrades is the UFS 3.1 storage, which is a welcome addition that should lead to faster app launches, faster file transfers, and overall faster performance. Other than that, rumors point towards a new design, a slight battery capacity boost, a Snapdragon processor, and improvements in the core hardware segments. As expected, these will also lead to slightly higher pricing.

The increasing prices of smartphone components have impacted almost all brands, and Nothing is no different. For comparison, the Nothing Phone (3a) was launched at a price of ₹24,999, and the Phone (3a) Pro started at ₹29,999. Given that the Phone (4a) lineup has better specs and is positioned as a more premium offering, one can expect a significant price jump when the smartphones are launched.

Though the price point may raise an eyebrow or two, Nothing appears to be confident that the upgrades will be worth the price, particularly in a scenario where mid-range smartphones are increasingly blurring the lines between affordable and premium.

A recent listing of the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro in an EU database has revealed some details about the device, including a 5,080mAh battery that supports 50W fast charging. While this is not a significant upgrade over the Phone (3a) Pro, which came with a 5,000mAh battery and the same fast charging support, even a slight boost in battery life can make a difference.

What’s more interesting is that the listing also suggests the device will feature IP65 dust and water resistance, which is an improvement over the IP64 rating on the previous Pro model. While it is not the best rating in the category, it does provide an additional layer of comfort.

The Phone (3a) Pro was appreciated for its transparent design, good performance, decent cameras, and simple, bloat-free software. However, it had some shortcomings as well. These included the lack of a charger in the box, relatively slower charging speeds compared to other smartphones, and a periscope lens that was not as advanced as others in the market.

The Phone (3a), on the other hand, offered a balanced experience but had the same shortcomings no charger in the box and a design that was slightly bulky.
