OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro Design, Display and Battery Details Revealed Ahead of Launch
OnePlus has revealed the design, colours, display and battery details of the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro ahead of their October 29 launch in China. Both phones will feature a 185Hz gaming display, a 9,000mAh battery and hardware bypass charging.

OnePlus is set to unveil its new series of OnePlus Ace smartphones in China, with both the OnePlus Ace 7 and OnePlus Ace 7 Pro slated for release on October 29. Before the formal unveiling, the manufacturer has provided some insights into the devices, including design and colour choices as well as the technology behind the screen and battery capacity. The new smartphones seem to be targeted at gamers, with emphasis placed on high refresh rate screens, large batteries and gaming-related functionality.
Both devices will come equipped with the fourth generation of OnePlus' Oriental Screen, which was first unveiled in the OnePlus 16 flagship. The new smartphones from the Ace line-up will also include the latest in Qualcomm's SnapDragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series of processors and huge 9,000mAh batteries.
OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro Design and Colour Options
OnePlus has disclosed the designs of both phones in their latest promotional teasers. The OnePlus Ace 7 will come in three color options including black, white and a gradient version with colors like orange and red. On the other hand, the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro will come in black, white and Pofeng color options. The latter means 'Windbreaker' in English.
As it can be seen from the official pictures and leaks, both devices will sport flat rear surfaces, metal frames, and square camera modules. Black variants of both phones have a dark surface design combined with rings of a lighter color on the cameras, while white variants feature a bluish sheen design. The gradient design of the OnePlus Ace 7 adds a colorful touch to the device, while the Pofeng design of the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro combines white and blue colors.
As far as the rear camera system is concerned, both devices will have one large primary camera with a smaller secondary camera right next to it. Although there is some similarity in the design language of both devices, they will differ in colors.
OnePlus Ace 7 Series to Feature a 185Hz Display
Another standout feature of the OnePlus Ace 7 and the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro is the fourth-gen Oriental Screen, which is made in collaboration with BOE. According to OnePlus, the panel features custom X4 emissive material that ensures better clarity and transparency, providing an improved viewing experience.
With the refresh rate of 165Hz supported system-wide for such operations as menu navigation and scrolling, the maximum refresh rate for compatible games goes up to 185Hz. The higher refresh rate has been made possible by the newly introduced LTPO circuit; however, the exact frame rate will vary depending on the supported game and its settings.
Both devices are going to feature OnePlus' Super Display Chip P4 to deal with high frame rate content. For user comfort, OnePlus has implemented the company's Bright Eyes Protection technology, which was created in collaboration with MedSight and Vision. OnePlus China President Li Jie referred to the panel as the industry's first 185Hz LTPO flagship ultra HD display.
If these capabilities translate into consistent performance in supported games, the display could become one of the series' most important selling points, particularly for competitive mobile gamers who value smooth visuals and responsive controls.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Chipsets Expected
Both of the phones will be equipped with the processors from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 line-up manufactured by Qualcomm, though the configurations of the chipsets in the devices will be different.
Based on the reports, the standard OnePlus Ace 7 is going to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V processor, whereas the Ace 7 Pro is likely to be supplied with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The difference might result in better performance of the latter phone, though there is no official information about the complete specifications and performance of the devices.
Equipped with such advanced processors and high refresh rate displays, the new OnePlus Ace 7 can be suitable for playing mobile games, multi-tasking and other performance-oriented tasks. Still, gaming performance can greatly rely on thermal management, optimization and sustained performance.
OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro to Pack 9,000mAh Batteries
Battery life is yet another notable characteristic that the new OnePlus Ace 7 lineup boasts of. According to OnePlus, the two devices will come with batteries having an impressive 9,000mAh battery capacity, which is not small for performance-oriented smartphones.
As Li Jie says, with the two batteries, it would be possible to play games for up to seven hours continuously at 185 frames per second and stream videos for 24 hours. However, the battery life figures are provided by the company, and they may be different due to several factors like screen brightness, network connection, requirements for the game being played and others.
Such huge battery capacities may benefit those people who use their phones for gaming, watching videos and running demanding applications for several hours a day.
Another important factor to consider is hardware bypass charging. It enables the phone to charge itself directly without going through the battery when it is used for playing games that require a lot of energy. With the reduced amount of battery charging, bypass charging is able to help reduce battery heating during prolonged game sessions.
Gamers who are accustomed to playing while charging their devices will appreciate the large battery size in conjunction with bypass charging as a much more convenient solution. Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that bypass charging cannot fully protect the device from overheating because some elements of the device such as the processor and the display will also produce heat.
OnePlus Ace 7 Pro Camera Specifications Tipped
However, the exact camera specifications for both phones have not been officially confirmed by OnePlus. There are, nevertheless, some leaks regarding the possible presence of a 200-megapixel primary camera at the back of both smartphones.
The OnePlus Ace 7 Pro is alleged to be equipped with an additional 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation technology. In case if the leaks are true, the mentioned camera might give users additional possibilities to capture remote subjects and take portraits.
Furthermore, both smartphones will allegedly have 16-megapixel cameras for selfies. Some other notable specifications can include ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors.
All the above-described specifications have not been confirmed officially yet. Therefore, one has to wait until the release date and check all the characteristics to make conclusions. Moreover, camera performance depends on several other aspects like sensor sizes, etc.
OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro Launch Date and Availability
OnePlus will make an official launch of the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro smartphones in China on October 29. Pre-orders are available through the official OnePlus online store in China, which means the preparations for the launch are already happening.
At present, no official information is available on the prices of both the smartphones, and it has not yet been disclosed whether the smartphones will be made available in other countries too or not.
In the case of Indian consumers, one must pay attention to the OnePlus Ace series of phones since previously launched models of this series have formed the basis for the R-series of OnePlus smartphones. The Ace 6 series launched in India came to be known as the OnePlus 15R, and the possibility of launching an Ace series of Racing Edition smartphones under the name of Nord 7 smartphones has also been talked about.
OnePlus Ace 7 vs Ace 7 Pro What to Expect
From what is known about both devices at the moment, it can be said that the key differences between them will be in the configuration of the processor, the color palette, and perhaps the camera system, while other aspects will remain identical – 4th generation Oriental screen, 9000 mAh batteries, hardware bypass charging.
OnePlus Ace 7 can interest those buyers who want to purchase a high-quality device designed specifically for games with a large battery and high refresh rate of the screen, while the model Ace 7 Pro can be even more attractive if its specifications will turn out to be real.
For owners of older models of Ace or OnePlus R-series, the mentioned parameters can be particularly interesting, while those customers who pay attention to the capabilities of the camera have to wait until all the information will be confirmed.
With the launch just around the corner, more details about pricing, memory configurations, charging speeds and camera hardware are expected to emerge soon. The official announcement on October 29 should provide a clearer picture of how the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro compare and whether either device will eventually reach markets outside China.
