It might be that the company is developing a new performance-oriented phone as a part of its Ace series. The upcoming smartphone will apparently be called OnePlus Ace 7 and it will have a number of new hardware components designed to improve user experience for mobile gamers and performance enthusiasts. As per a recent leak, the OnePlus Ace 7 might have a 185Hz refresh rate display, a 200MP main camera, an active cooling fan, and Qualcomm's new flagship chipset.

Assuming that the leak is correct, then the OnePlus Ace 7 will be the first smartphone of the Ace 7 series and the follow-up to the existing Ace 6 series. The smartphones developed by the company as a part of its Ace series are generally considered to be performance-oriented and they usually feature powerful processors, high refresh rate displays, large batteries, and gaming-related components.

The recent leak comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster who claims to have obtained the specifications of OnePlus' engineering smartphone prototype. It is rumored that the phone will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and may be available under the name of OnePlus Ace 7. As of now, the specifications of the leaked smartphone have not been confirmed by OnePlus but show what kind of phone the company is working on.

In accordance with the recent leak, the OnePlus Ace 7 may have a 6.78-inch flat OLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K. The most intriguing feature of the screen is its claimed 185 Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate of 185 Hz is a lot higher compared to other flagship smartphones, which makes the upcoming smartphone suitable for gaming purposes.

However, the upgrades will appear not so appealing for owners of OnePlus Ace 6 unless the latter proves to be better in gaming in comparison with the former one due to its hardware and active cooling system. Of course, the final decision is also highly dependent on the capacity of the battery, charging technologies used, optimization of the software, camera performance, price, and availability.
