OPPO A7 Pro With 8,000mAh Battery, OLED Display Launching September 11

OPPO A7 Pro will be launched in China on September 11 featuring an 8,000mAh battery, OLED screen, and IP69K protection rating. Here is all the information about its expected specs, camera, SoC, and fast charging capability.

OPPO A7 Pro

OPPO is taking its line of smartphones that focus on batteries further with the soon to be released OPPO A7 Pro. OPPO has announced that the phone will be officially released in China on September 11th and will be put up for sale in the market of China on the same day. This phone was introduced by the company just after the launch of OPPO A7 Pro Max which was the company's first smartphone with a whopping 10,000mAh battery.

Though OPPO has not released the complete specs of the phone, OPPO has shared some of the notable features that will be included in it. One of the most prominent features of the phone will be its 8,000mAh battery which makes the A7 Pro very special because it beats the usual capacity of 5,000mAh in most of the smartphones.

OPPO A7 Pro specifications and features

Another aspect that makes the OPPO A7 Pro quite attractive is the fact that the new phone will come with an 8000mAh battery. The big battery is likely going to be the device’s main selling point since it should make it capable of dealing with an entire day of intensive use. In addition, it can compete with similar devices from such companies as POCO and Realme.

In addition, the battery is expected to support 80W fast wired charging. While at this point OPPO hasn’t confirmed this information, it would definitely come in handy in order to charge the battery of the phone as quickly as possible, especially considering that it’s quite big.

Furthermore, the phone is going to have an OLED display and will run on ColorOS 16. OPPO doesn’t seem to reveal the exact specifications regarding the screen such as its size, resolution and refresh rate. However, according to the TENAA listing, the screen is likely to be 6.57 inches with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

OPPO A7 Pro design and camera

The design of the A7 Pro model by OPPO has already been revealed, thus giving an idea of what the phone would look like. The rear part of the body comes with the characteristic wave design which makes the design of the phone stand out visually.

The smartphone seems to come with the horizontal pill-shaped module which includes the rear camera and the LED flash placed right next to each other. The design of the front side comes with the hole-punch design including the front camera placed in its center.

Taking into account the information currently available online, the primary camera of the device is estimated to come with a 50MP resolution and the secondary one would be 8MP. Nevertheless, all these specifications have not been officially announced by OPPO yet. The fact that there is a single rear camera in the phone suggests that photography is not its priority, but rather longevity and display.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 could power the OPPO A7 Pro

The OPPO A7 Pro is likely to be driven under the hood by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip. It might also come in versions that are equipped with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage space. This means that users will have ample storage space for storing files.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 will probably be able to take care of most day-to-day functions, including social media applications, web browsing, video watching and multitasking. It may not be a very impressive option for people interested in high-performance gaming. The fact that the OPPO A7 Pro is being positioned as a battery life-oriented device suggests its practical nature.

IP69K rating adds extra durability

Also worth mentioning is the IP69K rating of the OPPO A7 Pro. In other words, it shows that OPPO is placing even more focus on the phone's durability and resistance to dust and water. With this in mind, the rating may make the phone particularly appealing to people interested in a more durable phone but not a rugged one.

This rating, when combined with an incredibly large 8,000 mAh battery, gives the A7 Pro a unique identity. Rather than trying to compete by having great cameras or powerful hardware, it appears that OPPO is aiming at consumers looking for a phone that will survive hard usage and have better battery life.

OPPO A7 Pro launch date and expected positioning

The new OPPO A7 Pro will be released in China on the 11th of September, as sales will start on that date as well. The company is supposed to announce further information about the smartphone prior to the release date, which includes all the specs of the gadget and its price configurations.

In theory, the A7 Pro is quite an interesting product for people who appreciate long battery life, an OLED screen, and reliability. It goes without saying that the main feature of this phone is the 8,000mAh battery, but the expected 120Hz OLED screen will surely add some value.

Nonetheless, there are a few weaknesses of this model that can be mentioned. Single-rear camera makes the phone less flexible than those with multiple cameras, while Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 might not suit people focused on high performance. Therefore, OPPO A7 Pro seems to be made for battery-conscious budget customers, and not the camera or gaming ones in this category.

Upgrade from a smartphone with a battery less than 5,000mAh to the one with 8,000mAh can be a big step. However, people should wait until the release of specifications, price, and reviews. Launch is scheduled for September 11th, so more information will be available soon.
