OPPO Reno 17 Series China Launch Confirmed Alongside Pad Air 6 and Watch 5
OPPO has officially confirmed the Reno 17 series launch in China alongside the Pad Air 6 and Watch 5. The Reno 17 Pro is tipped to feature a 200MP camera, Dimensity 8500 Super chipset, 120Hz AMOLED display and a 7,000mAh battery.

There are some rumors about the upcoming release of a new phone line Reno 17 in China which were confirmed by the company. The announcement has ended long-term discussions about the future of the popular phone line of the brand. The news about the new phones appeared only a couple of days after the rumors started to spread that OPPO prepared a presentation of new smartphones in China in October. But the Chinese company OPPO has not only decided to present the Reno 17 phone line but to introduce the two more products: OPPO Pad Air 6 and OPPO Watch 5.
The confirmation about the release of new products from OPPO appeared on the official page of the company on Weibo. The company has confirmed that they will present Reno 17 phone line, OPPO Pad Air 6 and OPPO Watch 5 in China in one pack. Also, the pre-orders of all three products have already become available in the Chinese market. Zhang Ruoxing who is the vice president of the brand shared the video on Weibo where OPPO showed the design of the upcoming products.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the teaser video is the use of a little bottle of glitter, which symbolizes the OPPO Reno 17 series. From this element, it can be deduced that the design aspect will still be retained on the phones of OPPO with its upcoming Reno 17 generation. One of the strengths of the Reno series that the company has been focusing on over time has been design. For instance, both the OPPO Reno 15 and Reno 16 generations had unique designs targeted towards people who like stylish smartphones.
However, OPPO has not yet confirmed how many smartphones will be included in the Reno 17 lineup. According to current leaks and rumours, the company could introduce three models, potentially including the standard OPPO Reno 17, Reno 17 Pro, and a more affordable Reno 17c or Reno 17F variant. The standard and Pro models are expected to attract the most attention, particularly because of the hardware specifications tipped for the higher-end device. It is worth noting that these model names and specifications have not been officially confirmed by OPPO.
In relation to the OPPO Reno 17 Pro, the smartphone has been tipped to come equipped with a relatively small 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate. In case this information proves accurate, the smartphone can be said to be promising to potential customers that prefer a top-of-the-line display on a phone that is not too big. The OPPO Reno 17 Pro is also rumored to be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Super chip. The phone is expected to pack a huge 7,000 mAh battery. This would mean that the phone places much emphasis on battery life in a mid-range smartphone.
The camera department could also stand out as one of the notable features of the OPPO Reno 17 Pro. According to some of the rumors, the OPPO Reno 17 Pro may have a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone will be equipped with a 50 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video conferencing on the front. If all the above-mentioned technical specifications of the smartphone turn out to be true, then OPPO may position the Reno 17 Pro as a cameraphone.
It is also worth noting that OPPO Reno 17 Pro may be the first OPPO Reno smartphone with a telephoto converter for the main camera, at least according to some of the rumors about the phone. If the phone really comes with such a gadget, then OPPO may surprise us by introducing this accessory to the smartphone. The upcoming Vivo S70 also has a similar feature, so OPPO should not disappoint in this case too, as Chinese smartphone manufacturers continue to introduce similar accessories to their smartphones.
At the same time, there should be a number of interesting features for the regular OPPO Reno 17 phone, but, judging from the specification sheet, it appears that the company will pay more attention to delivering the conventional hardware experience. From leaked information, it can be argued that the device could feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and 7,000mAh capacity battery. Additionally, it could have a 50-megapixel rear triple camera system. It is worth noting that the mentioned Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the very chipset which was used in the Reno 16 phone. Thus, it can be said that there will not be any significant increase in performance in comparison to the previous generation.
In addition to the smartphones, OPPO is going to introduce its Pad Air 6 and Watch 5 at the same time when launching the Reno 17 range of devices. Even though OPPO hasn't revealed any technical specifications or further product information for the two devices, it seems like the company aims to strengthen its connected devices ecosystem in China. Further information about the two products will most likely emerge closer to the official release.
After the launch was officially announced, and pre-orders started in China, more information about the OPPO Reno 17 series will likely become available in the next few weeks. With the help of the recent leaks, the Reno 17 Pro can turn out to be a very attractive choice for those customers who want a premium design, an excellent camera, small screen, and big battery capacity. Nevertheless, since most of the hardware information comes from the unofficial sources, it would be reasonable to wait until OPPO confirms the specifications and pricing before drawing any conclusions.
