Poco X8 Power, Poco X8 Launched in India With Massive Batteries and 1.5K AMOLED Displays

The launch of Poco X8 Power and Poco X8 in India has happened, which come with huge 1.5K AMOLED display, huge battery, Snapdragon chipset, 50MP cameras, and fast charging. These two smartphones will start getting sold through Flipkart from September 11.

The X8 series of Poco has been extended in India with the release of Poco X8 Power and Poco X8. These two phones have been launched on Friday along with the existing Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max. Though both the phones have got many things in common, Poco X8 Power has been distinguished from Poco X8 by virtue of having a big 10,000 mAh battery capacity and faster charging facility.

Starting price of Poco X8 has been set at Rs. 29,999 whereas that of Poco X8 Power is at Rs. 35,999. A coupon discount of Rs. 2,000 and further exchange bonus of Rs. 1,000 on both these models is being provided by Poco which effectively reduces the initial cost of these two phones to Rs. 26,999 and Rs. 32,999 respectively. They will be available for purchase from September 11 on Flipkart in India.

As regards the colour choices, Poco X8 Power will come in Black and Yellow shades whereas Poco X8 will have Black, Fiery Orange, and Frost White shades.

Both devices have a massive 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 1,280 x 2,772 pixels resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screens support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, a 3,200Hz touch sampling rate and 3,500 nits brightness. The displays are capable of displaying 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut with TUV Triple Eye Protection certification, and Wet Touch 2.0. They both come with Corning Gorilla Victus 2 protection for increased durability.

Both devices are well protected against dust and water, having an IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K rating. Both devices are shipped with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 by Xiaomi. Poco has announced that the devices will receive four OS updates and security updates for six years.

At the core, the Poco X8 Power is equipped with Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor with maximum performance of up to 2.6GHz. At the same time, the regular Poco X8 is outfitted with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor with max speed of 2.4GHz. In addition, both devices have Adreno GPU, but the Power version offers better memory and storage options – up to 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1. The Poco X8 has LPDDR4x RAM.

In terms of photography capabilities, both models have 50MP main camera at the back with f/1.8 aperture and OIS functionality. Moreover, the Poco X8 Power has one more rear camera – 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. As for the Poco X8 model, it combines its main camera with 2-megapixel depth camera. Concerning the front camera, the Poco X8 has 16MP, whereas the Poco X8 Power comes with 32-megapixel camera.

The most significant point where both the phones differ is in terms of their battery. The Poco X8 Power has a monstrous 10,000mAh battery along with 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging. While the regular Poco X8 has an equally monstrous 9,000mAh battery with comparatively slow 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging.

As a security measure, both phones have in-display fingerprint sensors. In spite of having large batteries, the sizes of both the phones remain almost the same. The Poco X8 has the size 163.45 x 78.27 x 8.6 mm and weighs about 226 grams while the Poco X8 Power has the size 163.44 x 78.27 x 8.65 mm and weighs about 229 grams.

Clearly, with the launch of the Poco X8 Power, the company is aiming at users that prefer a phone that comes with a big AMOLED screen, good cameras, and outstanding battery backup. While the regular version of the Poco X8 is slightly more budget-friendly and comes with the same specs and big AMOLED screen along with 9,000mAh battery.
