The POCO X8 Pro series is set to launch simultaneously in both India and global markets this month, on March 17. This new series featuring the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max is expected to become available in India in less than a week. Furthermore, these devices will be available for purchase in India through e-commerce platforms.
Additionally, the company has confirmed that an "Iron Man Edition" of the POCO X8 Pro series will also be launched in the country very soon. So, let's dive into this blog to explore the pricing and various specifications of these two phones, details of which have surfaced online; however, let me mention right at the outset that the leaked pricing suggests a significant increase compared to the previous models.
While the company is indeed introducing a special Iron Man Edition of the POCO X8 Pro, the main attractions remain the two core models, which are being positioned on the pillars of performance, durability, and long-lasting battery life. Specifically, the POCO X8 Pro will feature a 6500mAh battery, whereas the POCO X8 Pro Max will be equipped with an 8500mAh battery (for the global variant).
In India, the POCO X8 Pro Max may arrive with an even larger 9000mAh battery, potentially making it the company's phone with the largest battery capacity. Additionally, both smartphones will offer support for 100W fast charging. Furthermore, the Indian variant of the POCO X8 Pro will also include a 27W reverse wired charging feature. Compared to last year's POCO X7 Pro, the X8 Pro's battery capacity will be 500mAh larger.
The POCO X8 Pro will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, while the POCO X8 Pro Max will be equipped with the Dimensity 9500s chipset. The aim is to deliver powerful performance for gaming and heavy multitasking. These smartphones will feature a 1.5K display that supports 120fps in various games, such as BGMI, CODM, Standoff 2, and others.
Improvements are also expected in the camera department, although detailed specifications have not yet been officially released. According to reports, these phones could be rebranded versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max. They are likely to feature a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. As they will not include a telephoto or periscope lens, camera versatility may remain somewhat limited. Overall, the POCO X8 Pro series is designed for users who desire flagship-level performance, a large battery, and gaming prowess, but do not wish to spend a premium on expensive flagship phones.
In a post on X, POCO India announced the upcoming launch of an Iron Man Edition phone within its X series. Although the specific name of the device was not disclosed, Tech blogger Paras Guglani claims that this special edition belongs to the upcoming Poco X8 Pro series. Along with this information, he also shared marketing materials for the Iron Man Edition, which showcase the handset's design. According to these visuals, the Iron Man Edition of the Poco X8 Pro series features both the Iron Man logo and the Stark Industries logo on its rear panel. Additionally, the phone sports a black color scheme, with the Poco logo positioned in the upper-right corner of the back panel. The device is also expected to come bundled with a special Iron Man-themed box and a matching phone case.
Due to superior hardware and an advanced camera system, Poco may price the X8 Pro model higher this year. Consequently, pricing could emerge as a significant factor. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the starting price of the POCO X8 Pro could be approximately ₹35,000, while the POCO X8 Pro Max is rumored to be priced around ₹42,000. Given these figures, the POCO X8 Pro Max is likely to compete with the iQOO 15R, which is priced at approximately ₹44,999. Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Pro could go head-to-head with smartphones such as the POCO F7, iQOO Neo 10, and OnePlus Nord 5.
