Realme 16T will launch in India on May 22 with powerful 8000mAh battery

The Realme 16 series is all set to welcome its fourth member. As officially confirmed by Realme, the Realme 16T the successor to last year's Realme 15T will launch in India on May 22. Alongside this announcement, the company has also revealed several key details regarding this Realme 16 series handset, including its battery capacity, availability, and design. Prior to its launch, the phone has also appeared in various leaks and benchmark listings.

Realme 16T

This smartphone will be available in three color options. Furthermore, two separate microsites for the Realme 16T 5G have gone live one on the company's official website and another on an e-commerce platform. This phone will be the fourth model in the series, which already includes the Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro+.

Realme 16T Battery and Charging

The Realme 16T will feature a massive 8,000mAh battery. The company claims that on a single charge, this handset can be used for up to three days allowing for 14.3 hours of gaming, 34 hours of social media scrolling, 21.9 hours of navigation, and approximately 11 hours of BGMI gaming at 60fps.

This will be the largest battery ever included in any Realme number-series smartphone to date; for comparison, the previous model, the Realme 15T, featured a 7,000mAh battery. Furthermore, the company claims that the battery will remain suitable for use for up to seven years. The phone will also feature bypass charging, wired reverse charging, and 45W wired fast charging capabilities.

Design and Build

Despite housing such a large battery, this phone will have a thickness of just 8.8mm. The device features a flat-frame design. On the rear, it sports a square-shaped aluminum alloy camera module. A dual rear camera system, an LED flash, and a selfie mirror are housed within the camera island on the back panel. All in all, the rear panel design offers a clean and premium aesthetic. Furthermore, the power button and volume controls are located on the right side of the phone, while the left side remains completely bare. The phone will be available in three color options: Aurora Green, Starlight Red, and Starlight Black.

Display and Performance

The Realme 16T is expected to feature a 6.8-inch flat display. While there is no definitive confirmation regarding the chipset, leaks suggest it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300; however, some reports indicate that it may be marketed under the name Dimensity 6360. Furthermore, the device is expected to feature two performance cores clocked at a maximum speed of 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 2GHz. Additionally, the phone is anticipated to come with up to 8GB of RAM, Android 16, and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

Incidentally, if you have any questions regarding this chipset, let me clarify that it is not considered to be heavily focused on high-performance gaming. If this report proves accurate, it suggests that Realme has prioritized battery life and minimal heating. The phone should be perfectly adequate for social media, video streaming, navigation, and casual gaming. Users interested in heavy gaming may want to consider alternatives from brands like Redmi and POCO.

While the Realme 15T featured the Dimensity 6400 Max chip and the Realme 16 5G comes with the Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor, the Realme 16T, in comparison, places a greater focus on battery backup.

The Realme 16T will become available on Flipkart, the official Realme website, and offline stores in 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB storage variants starting May 22, 2026. While there has been no specific news regarding its pricing, the Realme 15T had a launch price of ₹20,999, and the price of the Realme 16 5G starts at ₹31,999. Consequently, it is estimated that the price of the Realme 16T could fall within the range of ₹20,000 to ₹30,000.

Additionally, according to other reports, the company is also working on another model in this series the Realme 16x. This model is expected to feature a 4GB RAM variant.
