South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung today launched its new budget smartphone, the Galaxy M17e, in India, with a starting price of ₹12,999. It will be available in India on an e-commerce platform in two different color options. The device features a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor, as well as an 8MP front camera specifications that are well-suited for social media and casual photography.
The phone features a 6,000mAh battery, which the company claims provides up to 26 hours of video playback on a single charge. Additionally, it comes with 25W fast charging support, which may be slightly slower than some competitors.
Internally, the Galaxy M17e 5G is equipped with the same Dimensity 6300 processor found in the Galaxy M17 5G. This makes it well-suited for daily tasks such as messaging, browsing, and light gaming. The device features up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage; the base variant, offering this configuration, is priced at ₹12,999. Meanwhile, the higher-end variant featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at ₹14,499. Additionally, customers can avail of an introductory discount of ₹1,250.
The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G is a dual-SIM smartphone running on Samsung's OneUI 8 operating system, based on Android 16. Along with this, the company will provide 6 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates, meaning this device is set to receive long-term support.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy M17e features an IP54 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and microSD card support (up to 2TB).
