Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Spotted on Google Play Console With Dimensity 9500 and Android 17

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has appeared on Google Play Console, revealing a Dimensity 9500 chipset, 12GB RAM, Android 17 and a familiar AMOLED display design.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra

It seems like Samsung is gearing up to unveil its upcoming generation of flagship tablets, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has finally been discovered in the Google Play Console. The discovery sheds light on some of the specifications of the device, including its processor, RAM setup, OS version, and screen features. Although Samsung has not confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Tab S12 line yet, the discovery in Google’s console indicates that the development process of the flagship tablet is currently going on before its scheduled release in the coming months.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is rumored to succeed the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, which made its debut last September along with the Galaxy Tab S11. Following Samsung’s release schedule, the tech giant may consider unveiling the next generation of tablets somewhere around the same time in 2026. The most exciting thing about this recent discovery in the Google Play Console is that it gives a hint about the possibility of the Samsung’s adoption of a MediaTek flagship SoC for its premium tablet with an almost similar design to the old model.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra

According to the listing on the Google Play Console, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may be equipped with the MediaTek flagship Dimensity 9500 SoC. The name of the processor is not indicated in the listing, but the SoC identifier number is MT6993, which indicates the Dimensity 9500 chipset.

The SoC should employ an eight-core CPU architecture and feature an ARM Mali G1-Ultra graphics processing unit. If the above-listed technical characteristics of the upcoming device prove to be correct, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may provide a notable performance boost compared to its predecessor, especially for resource-intensive tasks, including gaming, video editing, multitasking, etc.

At the same time, using the MediaTek flagship processor will turn the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra into a good alternative to Snapdragon-powered Android tablets. The Dimensity 9500 can be considered a high-performance SoC, and its integration is consistent with the idea to create a premium performance-oriented device.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Could Have 12GB RAM

The information about the memory configuration of the tablet can also be found in the listing in Google Play Console. The amount of the usable RAM is around 11.7 to 11.8 GB, and it means that the model of the tablet in question has 12GB RAM.

It is quite natural because a part of memory is used by the operating system and some other programs. The 12GB configuration is quite enough for heavy multitasking even on such big-screened tablet.

Currently, Samsung's high-end tablets tend to be marketed as a substitute for laptops, and a combination of 12GB of RAM, flagship processor and large AMOLED screen could make the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra really fit for people who use several apps at once.

Android 17 and One UI 9 Expected

Yet another significant feature that has been discovered is software. It appears that the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is equipped with Android 17 Beta, meaning that the tablet could be released with a new version of One UI software.

It is anticipated that the tablet will come with One UI 9, which is already being rolled out by Samsung for its flagships. The software may have a number of features that could be helpful for productivity and multitasking.

Since the device has a big screen, it can be assumed that multitasking will be one of the most attractive features of the tablet. In this regard, Samsung may enable users to run different apps simultaneously or several floating windows at once.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Design

The listing for Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra on the Google Play Console might also provide details on the design of its front side. According to the information provided, the upcoming tablet is likely to look very much like the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

In particular, the front side seems to have a dew-drop notch and relatively thin and symmetric bezels around the screen. Samsung is apparently not planning any major changes in terms of design, at least when it comes to the front side of the device.

The listing states that the new tablet will have a resolution of 1848 x 2960 pixels and 280ppi pixel density. This specification is very close to the one for the previous generation of the Ultra series tablets and, therefore, suggests that the company is planning some major improvements in the internal hardware and software instead.

14.6-Inch AMOLED Display

While the specifications listed by Google Play Console may not be accurate for all the display aspects, it is evident that due to similarities with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, Samsung might have used the same massive 14.6-inch AMOLED display in the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.

This would make it one of the biggest premium Android tablets in the market even though Samsung might not have provided much detail about its display features. The AMOLED display would give it rich blacks, great colors and contrast ratio making it perfect for entertainment like watching movies, videos and playing games as well as viewing images.

It would also be quite useful for working purposes too. Multiple apps could be used at the same time or Samsung's multi-tasking feature along with a keyboard and S Pen could be employed.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Price

The key issue regarding the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra might be its price. The previous generation of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra was introduced in India at the price of Rs 1,10,999, thereby becoming a part of the premium tablets' range.

The new device might be even costlier, especially when Samsung decides to install an updated flagship processor along with better memory options. Constant rising prices of components and memories might also affect the final retail price of the product.

As a consequence, the price of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra might become Rs 10,000 higher compared to the previous generation, depending, however, on Samsung's decision regarding the final price and specifications of the device.

Galaxy Tab S12 Could Launch Alongside the Ultra Model

Samsung is also likely to release an ordinary Galaxy Tab S12 along with the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. With the release of the latter model, Samsung will have two versions of its premium Android tablets: one of which will be aimed at buyers who want most of the flagship tablet's features but do not require such a huge screen and high-end specs as in the case of the Ultra model.

With a smaller screen and possibly lower price, the ordinary Galaxy Tab S12 will be more affordable to many buyers. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will stay Samsung's flagship device.

The release of both models can help Samsung tap into a bigger segment of the premium Android tablet market.

What to Expect From the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra

The look of the early Google Play Console reveals an intriguing story about Samsung's future flagship tablet. Instead of developing a radically new device, it seems that Samsung will work on improving the device's hardware while keeping its Ultra-series design intact.

With the help of the chipset, 12GB RAM, Android 17, One UI 9 and a large AMOLED display, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra can turn out to be one of the best Android tablets available in 2026. The multitasking features of the tablet will contribute to Samsung's leadership in this segment, offering people a tablet to replace their laptop in everyday use.

But, of course, the price of the device will be an important aspect. If Samsung hikes the price considerably compared to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, then buyers will have to judge if the newer processor and other updates are worth the price increment.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, at present, there is no official information regarding its launch date, features and pricing in India. But its presence in the Google Play Console shows that Samsung is getting closer to an official announcement of the device. So if you are searching for a premium Android tablet, and do not require an upgrade in the immediate future, then it may be worth waiting for the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.
