Tecno Pova Slim Launched in India with Sleek 3D Curved Display and Big Battery

Tecno has added to its Pova series in India with the Tecno Pova Slim, the third series addition this year. The name gives away the fact that the biggest USP of this smartphone is its thin and stylish appearance, along with a curved screen. It is being marketed by Tecno as the thinnest 3D curved display smartphone, and at a thickness of just 5.95mm, it lives true to the name.

Tecno Pova Slim

Although it is slightly thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge's 5.8mm thickness, Tecno compensates for it by providing a larger battery a feature that few slim phones have been able to attain. This fine blend of design and functionality makes the Pova Slim one of the most interesting mid-range releases in 2025.

Tecno Pova Slim

One of the stand-out features of the Tecno Pova Slim is that the company has succeeded in squeezing a 5,160mAh battery into such a slim package. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Edge has only a 3,900mAh unit. The company accomplishes this with silicone-carbon technology, which packs more power than standard lithium-ion batteries without taking up extra space.

Even with the huge battery, the phone only weighs a mere 156 grams and is even lighter than most of the slim phones available today. Further enhancing its usability, the phone features 45W wired fast charging, and Tecno provides the charger in the box itself, avoiding buyers the trouble of having to purchase it separately.

Durability Meets Elegance

Slim smartphones often raise concerns about durability, but Tecno has ensured the Pova Slim is no fragile beauty. The phone comes with:

Military-grade MIL-810H durability

Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection

IP64 resistance against dust and minor water splashes

Even when subjected to bending pressure, the phone held its ground, proving that sleekness doesn’t have to mean weakness.

Dynamic Mood Light Design

Adding to its premium design, the Tecno Pova Slim introduces a unique Dynamic Mood Light feature. The LED stripe runs across the elongated camera module and connects the dual camera sensors. It lights up for calls and notifications, ensuring you don’t miss alerts even when the phone is placed face down. This design choice makes the phone stand out visually while adding functionality.

Display

The Tecno Pova Slim is equipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display, offering:

  • 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming

  • 4,500 nits peak brightness for outdoor visibility

  • 92.6% screen-to-body ratio for an immersive experience

This ensures vibrant colors and sharp visuals, making it a delight for binge-watchers and gamers alike. However, the audio setup could disappoint some, as the phone only comes with a single Dolby Atmos-tuned speaker. While decent for the price, a stereo setup would have been a better match for the stunning display.

Performance

Under the hood, the Pova Slim runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. While this processor offers smooth day-to-day performance, it has primarily been seen on devices priced under ₹15,000. At an asking price of ₹19,999, this choice feels slightly underwhelming compared to rivals like the Infinix GT 30 and OPPO K13 5G, which come with more powerful chipsets.

On the software front, the device runs Android 15-based HiOS 15 out of the box. The UI includes practical AI features like:

  • Call Assist

  • AI Writing & Image Generation

  • Circle to Search

  • Privacy Blurring

  • Ella AI voice assistant with Indian language support

However, Tecno is expected to offer just one year of major OS updates and two years of security patches, which falls short of the industry standard.

Camera Setup

The Tecno Pova Slim features a dual rear camera system, consisting of:

  • 50MP primary sensor

  • 2MP auxiliary sensor

At the front, it accommodates a 13MP front camera in a punch-hole notch. Not top-end by any means, the cameras may be just enough for everyday imaging, social media posting, and video calls. A close examination of camera performance in various lighting conditions will tell us how that holds up against the competition.

Pricing, Availability, and Variants

Tecno has introduced the Pova Slim in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, which costs ₹19,999. The phone will go on sale from September 8th on Flipkart.

The Tecno Pova Slim is a desirable option for those who value slim design, lightweight convenience, and lengthy battery life. With its 3D curved AMOLED screen, distinctive LED look, and rugged construction, it's a fashionable yet functional mid-range choice.

But the Dimensity 6400 chipset and low software support can constrain it, particularly for power users and long-term buyers. If raw performance and future-proofing are most important, you might do better with Infinix or OPPO alternatives. Nevertheless, for regular users seeking a smartphone that appears premium, is light in the hand, and goes a long time between charges, the Tecno Pova Slim is a good choice.
