The Impact Summit 2026 in India, the first country from the Global South, began today on February 16th, with many top leaders attending. To support international visitors, NPCI has launched the UPI One World prepaid digital wallet. This service has been developed and designed specifically for foreign delegates and incoming travelers attending the event. It allows users to scan a UPI QR code and make real-time merchant payments across India, just like Indians do. The only difference is that no Indian mobile number or local bank account is required to use this wallet. This feature is currently available to visitors from over 40 countries and has been launched as a pilot initiative.

The wallet can be accessed through authorized prepaid payment instrument providers. Service points include the NPCI pavilion at New Delhi International Airport and Bharat Mandapam.
Steps to Use UPI One World
Download the CheqUPI app by Transcorp.
Complete the registration process.
Submit passport and visa details.
Finish identity verification with selfie upload and set a UPI PIN.
Receive a unique UPI ID after approval.
Load funds using international debit or credit cards.
Transaction limit: ₹25,000 per transaction; monthly load cap: ₹50,000 (two loads per month).
Unused balance can be refunded to the original payment source under foreign exchange rules.
This new feature, or wallet, aims to simplify digital payments for international travelers in India. It eliminates the difficulties of accessing local payment systems. However, some countries have been excluded based on official regulations, although their names have not been disclosed.
