Vivo T5x, T5 Lite and T4 Lite Price Hike in India Up to Rs 5,000 More Expensive

It has been reported that Vivo has raised the price of its T series phones in India, with the Vivo T5x, T5 Lite, and T4 Lite phones likely to be priced up to Rs 5,000 more than before. Here is the information on their prices, specifications, and whether you should purchase them.

Vivo T5x

Vivo seems to be planning a major price adjustment for selected phones under its budget-friendly T-series range in India. In a purported circular sent out to “All Authorised Channel Partners,” Vivo has hiked prices of the Vivo T5x, Vivo T5 Lite and Vivo T4 Lite by up to Rs 5,000. The price hike is supposed to be effective from August 23 but the smartphones remain available on Vivo’s official online portal at the old price point as of now.

The information has been provided by Sanju Chaudhary, a tipster who tweeted about the purported circular on his Twitter handle. As per the document, the price adjustment has been made due to the “continuous increase in input cost and other operational expenses.” Since Vivo hasn’t commented officially on this matter as of now, the details of the pricing adjustment aren’t clear yet.

Vivo T5x, T5 Lite and T4 Lite Price Hike Effective From August 23

According to the report, the date of effect of the revised prices is given as August 23. There is a slight caveat here, though, as the official website of Vivo still shows the affected smartphones priced at their older prices, implying that the price increase mentioned above might apply only to offline stores for the time being.

Furthermore, there has not been any official statement from Vivo after the posting by the tipster. It means that consumers will have to make sure about the price before buying the smartphone in question.

It is worth noting that Sanju Chaudhary has also stated that a price increase in some Vivo V series phones could take place in India shortly.

Vivo T4 Lite Features and Specifications

The Vivo T4 Lite is supposed to be the least expensive one of all three smartphones. This phone is equipped with a 6.74 inch HD+ LCD display with 90 Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor.

The 6,000 mAh battery, that is expected to ensure long time of usage, is another strong point of the T4 Lite. Additionally, this smartphone has 50 MP primary rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera. Durability has been paid much attention to by the producer of this smartphone, and thus the device got MIL-STD-810H and IP64 certifications.

While the display and charging equipment of the smartphone may not be the most advanced ones among others in its category, but still the combination of a powerful battery, 5G and durability makes this smartphone quite interesting one to choose for a budget-concerned consumer. Moreover, Vivo guarantees up to three years of software support for this device.

Vivo T5 Lite Features and Specifications

The Vivo T5 Lite elevates things a bit further by packing a 6.74-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a more fluid 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200-nits maximum brightness. It makes for a more compelling choice among those who frequently watch video content and enjoy a better experience in terms of playing games and scrolling.

At the core of the phone sits the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G platform and up to 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of storage. The most notable update in comparison to the T4 Lite is the 6,500mAh battery that is now combined with 44W Fast Charge support.

Furthermore, the T5 Lite comes equipped with a 50MP main rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. As far as reliability is concerned, this phone features MIL-STD-810H and IP65 certifications. Thus, even for casual gaming enthusiasts and those who need a high-refresh-rate display, large battery and decent performance, the T5 Lite seems like a compelling choice, provided its new price doesn't push it too far away from its competition.

Vivo T5x Offers the Biggest Battery

Leading the list is the Vivo T5x that is rumored to get the biggest price hike of the bunch. The standout feature here is the gigantic 7,200mAh battery that makes it one of the most battery-centric smartphones in its category.

The smartphone is equipped with the better-performing MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset and comes with a 6.76-inch FHD+ LCD display having a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone also gets 44W FlashCharge functionality, allowing you to charge its large battery pretty quickly.

The triple camera system consists of a 50MP rear primary camera and 32MP front camera, making the T5x a more attractive smartphone for selfie lovers compared to the other two options in the list. Also, the T5x has the best durability certifications, including MIL-STD-810H, IP68, and IP69+ certifications.

It would be a good pick for users that prefer to spend time outside or just need a device that can handle challenging daily usage. However, taking into account the Rs 5,000 increase in the price, this smartphone has much less to offer.

Should You Buy the Vivo T5x, T5 Lite or T4 Lite Now?

In case you had any plans of buying one of these phones anyway, doing so at these online prices might be justified, especially if Vivo ends up applying the changes that have reportedly been made on all platforms. The Vivo T4 Lite is still the best value option for those customers who prefer longer battery life, reliability, and 5G capabilities, whereas the T5 Lite seems to be the best option for those who prefer a clearer 120Hz screen, bigger battery capacity, and fast charging capabilities.

When compared to its two counterparts, the Vivo T5x seems to be the most equipped phone among the three, coming with the biggest battery capacity, stronger chipset, 32MP selfie camera, and better water and dust protection features. On the other hand, buyers need to carefully evaluate whether it is worth spending Rs 29,999 on this phone.

The important point to note for the time being is that this alleged price increase from Vivo might cause the cost of these T-series phones to increase substantially, particularly the T5x. Considering that increased costs of components along with strain on RAM and storage supplies are allegedly impacting the smartphone market, there can be more price adjustments by other manufacturers as well.

This being said, considering that the official website of Vivo does not mention any increase in prices yet, it can be concluded that this report remains speculative until the price increase is officially announced by Vivo.
