Following its recent launch of the Vivo T4 Ultra in India, Vivo is poised to further increase its Y-series portfolio with an all-new smartphone: the Vivo Y400 Pro. Launching on June 20, 2025, the phone will replace the Vivo Y300 series and will come with a new design change as well as significant performance upgrades. Vivo is also promoting the Y400 Pro as the thinnest phone in its category with a 3D curved screen, gifting it a premium look that is hard to find on mid-range phones.

Let's dive in and see what makes the Vivo Y400 Pro interesting and what one can expect when the phone goes on sale later this month.

Vivo Y400 Pro India Launch Details

Vivo Y400 Pro is going official in India on June 20, 2025, with a live event at 12 PM IST. The brand has already started teasing the phone on social media, introducing its new design and standout features. A teaser image gives us a glimpse of the phone in a 'Freestyle White' color option with a gradient marble-like finish that gives its rear panel a touch of sophistication.

The rear of the phone features a characteristic oval-shaped camera module positioned on the top-right. It features a dual-camera setup, topped by a large primary sensor, with a secondary lens, an LED flash, and a ring-shaped LED light in place, providing it with a fashionable and utilitarian look. Moreover, the curved edges and circular corners indicate a smooth in-hand feel, highlighting both form and function.

Vivo Y400 Pro Display and Design

One of the most significant points of discussion for the Vivo Y400 Pro is its 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. The screen has a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth scrolling and an overall nicer-looking experience. The real highlight, though, is the up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, something most people won't find in this range. This makes the phone particularly suitable for users who spend a lot of time outdoors.

The 3D curved shape of the screen not only lends a contemporary, bezel-free aesthetic but also contributes to overall usability with better grip and more fluid gesture navigation. Vivo's assertion of it being the thinnest 3D curved smartphone in its category may well prove to be a selling point, particularly for fashion buyers.

Performance

Under the hood, the Vivo Y400 Pro is expected to come with the newly announced MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. Based on an efficient 4nm process, the chipset promises 20% improved frame rates and 20% better energy efficiency when compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 7200. This performance leap ensures smoother multitasking, better gaming performance, and reduced heat generation.

Memory Side: The smartphone will probably have 8GB of RAM, along with 128GB or 256GB of storage. Vivo may also provide up to 8GB of virtual RAM for additional memory enhance for heavy apps or multitasking processes.

Camera Setup

The Vivo Y400 Pro is set to offer stellar photography performance due to its 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera. The sensor is renowned for its high-resolution image capture, true colors, and swift autofocus. It is accompanied by a 2MP secondary camera, presumably for depth sensing or for macro photography.

For video callers and selfie fans, the phone could feature a 32MP selfie camera, offering crisp and colorful self-portraits. Given Vivo's past of robust AI upgrade and beauty mode, this could be a go-to phone for budget-conscious creators and influencers.

Battery and Charging

The battery division finds the Vivo Y400 Pro sporting a 5,500mAh battery, and while that should be more than sufficient for a day's use, in a space where the competition is providing 6,000mAh or even 6,500mAh batteries, that may seem a little short-changed on paper.

It will compensate for that with reported support for 90W fast charging, among the quickest in its category. That enables users to refill their phone in less than an hour, keeping downtime to a minimum and productivity at a maximum.

Availability and Expected Price in India

While official pricing remains a secret, sources in the industry predict that the Vivo Y400 Pro might be priced around ₹25,000, slightly higher than the Vivo Y300, which started at ₹21,999. The device will retail on Vivo's website, and potentially through Amazon and Flipkart, judging by initial listings (now taken down).

With its fashion-forward look, curved AMOLED screen, and powerful specs, the Y400 Pro may prove a strong contender in the mid-range sector, appealing to youthful buyers and tech-conscious consumers alike in search of style and substance in one.
