Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is preparing to launch its new Y-series smartphone, the Vivo Y51 Pro, in India. The phone has already been launched in Pakistan and was recently spotted on the BIS website and has also received Bluetooth SIG certification, indicating an imminent launch. While the company has not yet released any official statement, exclusive promotional material and regulatory documents have revealed the device's design and core hardware, indicating a strong focus on long battery life and gaming performance.

According to leaked promotional images, the phone's design resembles the Vivo V70 series. It is expected to feature flat edges, an LED ring, and an attractive red color. As leaked renders show an attractive red color variant, it's likely that the phone will launch in other color options as well. Leaked promotional images reveal a dual camera system on the back, including a 50MP AI-enabled wide sensor that can record 4K video. An LED ring light is also provided alongside the camera module.
The Vivo Y51 Pro will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset. This new processor, launched in late 2025, is designed for improved gaming performance and power efficiency. The phone is expected to be one of the first phones in its segment to come pre-installed with OriginOS 6, based on the Android 16 operating system. Currently, information about its software update support has not been revealed.
Speaking of the phone's battery, which is its main feature, the smartphone is expected to feature a large 7,200mAh battery. This battery could be capable of providing a day or more of backup.
The phone will feature a 50MP AI Wide Camera, which will support 4K video recording. It will feature a dual camera setup on the back. The camera module is accompanied by an LED ring light, similar to the design seen on Vivo's recent flagship devices.
The Y51 Pro is expected to have both IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, meaning it will offer better protection against water and dust.
Vivo's Y-series is generally known for stylish design and reliable hardware which will fall in the mid-range segment. Vivo Y51 Pro will be the successor of Y31 Pro launched last year. The main upgrades in it can be a new chipset and a bigger battery. According to Lux, the price of the phone can be less than ₹25,000. Also, an instant cashback of ₹2,500 is also likely to be available in the launch offer.
This can be a good option for users who want stylish design, big battery and smooth performance. Especially for gaming performance, the new chipset can give a better experience. Before buying, it would be better to wait for the official launch and reviews so that you can get accurate information about its price and performance.
