Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 & Pad 8 India Launch on March 11

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi unveiled its latest flagship Xiaomi 17 series, which includes the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17, and the Xiaomi Pad 8 globally on February 28 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona. The company has confirmed that the devices will launch in India on March 11, 2026. These devices will be sold on Amazon India and Xiaomi's official website.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the most premium and flagship model in the series, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This is the same hardware found in current Android flagships from Samsung and OnePlus, so performance shouldn't be an issue for everyday use or gaming. The phone runs on the HyperOS 3 operating system based on Android 16. It also packs a large 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging support. The company claims that the phone will deliver up to 1.5 days of battery life and maintain 80% battery health after 1,600 charge cycles.

The series features a Leica camera and features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP 1-inch primary sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera (115° FOV) with 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom. The phone offers improved low-light photography and pro-level zoom capabilities. With these camera features, it will compete with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Vivo X300 series.

The Xiaomi 17, a more affordable alternative to the Ultra, will offer flagship-level performance and Leica camera tuning. It's a better option for users who want high performance but don't need a high-end camera like the Ultra and want to balance budget and value.

Now let's talk about the Xiaomi Pad 8, a premium Android tablet that will launch alongside the Xiaomi 17 series and is priced globally at EUR 449 (approximately ₹48,000). In this price range, it will compete with the OnePlus Pad 3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE.

This premium tablet is expected to come with features like stylus support, multitasking support, and cross-device integration with Xiaomi phones. It can be used for streaming, note-taking, light productivity work, and as a secondary screen.

Talking about the pricing of the Xiaomi 17 series, the Xiaomi 17 will be priced at EUR 999 (~₹1.07 lakh) and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be priced at EUR 1,499 (~₹1.61 lakh). These are the global prices; the actual price in India will be announced at the launch event.
