The competition in the sub-flagship smartphones category has started to get intense recently, and Xiaomi plans to launch their own offering under the name Xiaomi 17T. Xiaomi has officially announced their upcoming India launch of the device. On the other hand, the global launch is set to happen on May 28 along with the Xiaomi 17T Pro. However, according to several reports, Xiaomi may skip the global version's India launch. Hence, Xiaomi 17T will be competing against the likes of newly-launched sub-flagship phones such as OPPO Find X9s and Vivo X300 FE.

As per several rumours, Xiaomi 17T is expected to offer some amazing specifications including Leica cameras, massive battery capacity, and premium design among others. It seems like Xiaomi hasn't disclosed the details yet officially.

Xiaomi 17T India Launch Date Confirmed

According to Xiaomi, the new Xiaomi 17T phone will hit the Indian market on June 4. The smartphone model is rumored to be a sub-flagship device and hence priced lower compared to other flagship phones. As per the current pricing trend, the flagship Xiaomi 17 phone costs up to Rs 89,999 in India.

Recently, the smartphone market has witnessed some unique pricing trends wherein some sub-flagship devices cost more than the flagship versions. This is evidenced by models such as the OPPO Find X9s and Vivo X300 FE. In some regions, the former and latter devices come out as more expensive than their corresponding flagships due to slight differences in their hardware.

Xiaomi 17T Expected Specifications

Without making any official statements on the hardware, the teasers posted by the company point out clearly that the Xiaomi 17T will be all about camera performance. The Xiaomi will give further details starting from May 24th, including the ability of cameras, the zoom lens, and selfies.

The latest leaks state that the Xiaomi 17T could feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This level of performance is quite common for high-end smartphones of this class and will deliver good colors as well as fast scrolling and gameplay experience.

Regarding the design, the phone will look like its predecessor Xiaomi 17. The leaks showcase an iPhone-like design with flat edges, thin bezels, and a squircle shape for the camera unit.
