Mivi is entering India’s smartphone market with the One 5G, launching on September 24. The phone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and 6GB RAM, while its price, display, cameras and battery details remain under wraps.

It is now official that Mivi is entering the fiercely competitive smartphone space in India, with the company revealing the launch date of its first smartphone. The Hyderabad-headquartered consumer tech firm will launch the Mivi One 5G smartphone in India on September 24th, marking the biggest push forward for the company which had been focusing on the audio space in India for the last 10 years.
The upcoming Mivi One 5G is being touted by the company as an Indian-made smartphone for Indian customers. Mivi has confirmed the fact that the smartphone will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G chipset, but the details related to the processor, prices, and specs have not been disclosed yet. There has been some information revealed through a recent Geekbench leak.
Mivi One 5G Could Feature Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
An entry in the Geekbench 7 listings for a smartphone with the model number Mivi MVNOE has revealed the use of Qualcomm processor alongside 6 GB of RAM. According to the listing, the processor used is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 while the phone itself runs on Android 16. The device reportedly scored 677 in single-core and 1,490 in multi-core tests.
It should be noted that although Mivi did not confirm whether the listed phone is indeed the Mivi One 5G, the reported specifications – Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 6 GB RAM and Android 16 – should be regarded as unconfirmed at this point.
If the specifications prove to be correct, then the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 makes sense for a budget-focused 5G smartphone. Though it may not be the latest offering from Qualcomm, this SoC can definitely take care of all the basic tasks and bring 5G to an affordable segment.
Use of a slightly older budget SoC will also help Mivi keep the phone price down. As prices of smartphones are already affected by rising component costs, use of a more affordable SoC will enable the manufacturer to allocate funds elsewhere while keeping launch price low.
Display, Cameras and Battery Details
Aside from the potential configuration of the processors and RAM, there are many things that are still up in the air when it comes to the Mivi One 5G. Specifications such as display size, camera details, display refresh rates, battery capacity, fast charging, and memory options have yet to be shared by the company.
This can be especially vital considering that Mivi is trying its luck in a market where people already have existing options. A Snapdragon chip and 5G support could easily make buyers opt out of buying the phone unless the rest of the features such as battery life, display, cameras, and software are solid.
The tagline for the launch of the smartphone is “Pretty Powerful.” Images of promotional materials show the availability of a green phone with round edges as the first glimpse of the design of the device. The Mivi One 5G will be available at Flipkart.
One of the key points of discussion related to the upcoming Mivi One 5G phone is its placement. As per reports, Mivi plans to target the sub-Rs 15,000 smartphone category where there is an increasing demand for affordable 5G options.
It is surprising that the smartphones belonging to the sub-Rs 15,000 bracket have largely gone towards being 4G phones. If the Mivi One 5G can be launched below Rs 15,000 with a Snapdragon processor, then there will be a definite USP that Mivi can bring into the market.
With the entry of Mivi into the budget smartphone market, it will face competition from brands like Redmi, Realme and Motorola. These brands have a well-established network of distribution, strong user base and a number of smartphones available under their affordable range.
It should be noted that Mivi is not the sole electronics manufacturer striving to get into the smartphone industry. There are other manufacturers that started producing their own smartphones, for example, Fire-Boltt with the Boltt Ace and Boltt Evo or Philips that launched its first 5G smartphone, the S7221 5G.
Nevertheless, Mivi has one more thing to its credit – the fact that the company is experienced in designing and manufacturing consumer technology in India. This may play a certain role in attracting buyers, as the company has experience with audio devices, but selling the latter and smartphones will be two different things.
The market of Indian smartphones is especially competitive in the budget range because buyers are very cost-sensitive in this segment. The parameters of battery life, user interface, camera quality, and durability are of key importance when choosing the device.
Mivi One 5G Launch
In light of the above factors, buyers of 5G phones that fall below Rs 15,000 may want to wait for Mivi One 5G phone before purchasing one. The combination of a potential Snapdragon chipset, 5G functionality, and affordable pricing might give it the edge in a segment which seems to have fewer options than before.
Nonetheless, the final conclusion will be dependent on the specifications and pricing announced by Mivi at launch. For Mivi to be successful in beating the established brands, Redmi, Realme, Motorola, among others, it will need to offer a lot more.
Mivi One 5G is set to be launched in India on September 24 and thus the time is not much. More information concerning the processor, price, display, camera, battery, and other specifications of Mivi One 5G is likely to come to light. It all depends on whether Mivi gets its pricing right and supports the debut smartphone in India with quality hardware and software.
