OnePlus officially teased the Nord 5 series through a video shared on its global X account (later deleted).
The teaser confirms the launch of both OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 smartphones.
OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 are expected to launch globally on July 8, 2025.
Pricing in India is expected around ₹30,000, similar to the Nord 4’s launch price.
India launch is not yet confirmed but highly expected shortly after global reveal.
The long-awaited OnePlus Nord 5 launch is finally confirmed. OnePlus has posted a teaser video announcing the reality of the OnePlus Nord 5 lineup. This news is the first solid evidence that OnePlus is working towards releasing its next series of Nord phones. And this time it will not be a single device the OnePlus Nord 5 will come with the OnePlus Nord CE 5, making for a strong new duo in the brand's mid-ranger lineup.
In our last blog, we talked about the leaked specs and other speculated information of the OnePlus Nord 5 series. Now that official confirmation has arrived, things are clearer regarding what to anticipate from these new phones.
The official teaser of the OnePlus Nord 5 series was posted through the OnePlus Global X (previously Twitter) handle, suggesting a global launch soon. Curiously, while the teaser tweet was deleted afterward, tech tipster Mukul Sharma was quick to take a screenshot so that the teaser still made its rounds online.
Not only does this teaser confirm that there is a launch happening, but it also gives us a peek at the design of the new phone. As can be observed, the OnePlus Nord 5 has a vertically stacked dual-camera module, which deviates from the design language of the Nord 4. The Nord 5 also has an LED flash module and looks similar to the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, a phone that has recently been launched in China. This similarity has further given rise to speculations that the Nord 5 might be a rebadged variant of the Ace 5 Racing Edition for international markets. According to several leaks, the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 will be released on July 8, 2025, even though the company has not made the launch date official in India yet.
As per leaks, the OnePlus Nord 5 will cost approximately ₹30,000 in India, similar to its predecessor, the Nord 4, which was available at launch for ₹29,999. If true, this pricing follows OnePlus' tradition of releasing feature-heavy phones for competitive prices within the mid-range segment.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is also expected to have a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED flat screen display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which is the same we experienced in the Nord CE 4. This provides a smooth visual experience perfect for multimedia viewing as well as gaming. Even though the display information for the standard Nord 5 isn't clearly stated, OnePlus tends to keep both variants at par with each other regarding screen quality.
Performance has never been the defining feature of the Nord series, but the new models are no exceptions.
The latest OnePlus Nord 5 may be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e or the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. A recent Geekbench listing pointed towards the former, indicating that the latter might offer top-of-the-line performance in a mid-tier device.
Alternatively, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 will likely come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, which should boast a serious upgrade from the Nord CE 4's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
This processor choice is also a sign that both devices will feature better AI support, enhanced gaming performance, and increased power efficiency.
Battery life is going to see a huge improvement in the Nord 5 series:
OnePlus Nord 5 could have a 6,650mAh battery (branded as 7,000mAh) with 100W fast charging support. This is a huge jump compared to the 5,500mAh battery on the Nord 4.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 could take it further with a 7,100mAh battery and 80W fast charging, one of the biggest batteries in this range.
These features indicate that OnePlus is looking to offer long-lasting performance and rapid top-ups, which power users are sure to appreciate.
OnePlus is also introducing camera upgrades to the Nord 5 series:
The OnePlus Nord 5 will be powered by a 50MP main camera with OIS, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and a 16MP front-facing camera.
At the same time, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is said to feature a 50MP Sony LYT600/IMX882 main sensor and an 8MP IMX355 ultra-wide lens. This is significantly different from the Nord CE 4's 2MP depth sensor and should provide improved photography, particularly in ultra-wide situations.
With these enhancements, OnePlus is obviously looking to boost both photo and video performance across the board.
Up to this point, there has been no official word on the India release date of the Nord 5 series from OnePlus. That said, based on the popularity of the Nord series in India, both the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 are expected to make an appearance in the country soon after the world launch.
With upgraded powerful chipsets, enormous battery increases, improved camera sensors, and a new design, the OnePlus Nord 5 series is poised to be one of the hottest mid-range releases of 2025. The Nord series has long promised a good balance of performance and cost, and these new devices should continue that tradition.
