Oppo has officially announced that its upcoming next-gen flagship phones Oppo Find X9 series will be the world's first devices to come equipped with the just-released MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. The news broke on the same day MediaTek released its new flagship chip, underscoring the close collaboration between the two giants in the tech world. The duo will come in two variants, the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, both of which will also launch ColorOS 16 on Android 16.
On Chinese social media site Weibo, Oppo announced that the Find X9 series will go on sale in China on October 16, 2025. Pre-orders of the devices are already being taken on the firm's official website, indicating keenness among enthusiasts. Although Oppo has already announced a global release, the international release schedule is still to be made known.
The Oppo Find X9 line will see the launch of the Dimensity 9500, the company's best chipset ever. The processor, says the company, provides 32% improvement in single-core performance over the previous generation while remaining 55% more power-efficient at peak performance. Such enhancements guarantee smoother multitasking, quicker app opening, and better battery life even during heavy loads.
Oppo also brings its self-designed Trinity Engine, touted to be "Android's first unified computing power model." This cutting-edge system is said to maximize CPU, GPU, and memory management to provide optimum peak performance without overheating or throttling.
Oppo Find X9 and X9 Pro will be the first smartphones to launch with ColorOS 16, which is Oppo's newest custom skin based on Android 16. The public release in China was already announced by the company for October 15, 2025, a day prior to the official launch event. With enhanced security, personalization, and AI-centric features, ColorOS 16 promises to bring a more seamless and intuitive user experience.
Oppo is further pursuing its successful collaboration with Hasselblad, outfitting the Find X9 lineup with co-designed professional-level cameras. Oppo Find X9 Pro has been tipped to come with a revolutionary 200MP periscope telephoto lens, which would be among the most innovative smartphone cameras in the market. In addition to this, Oppo is also set to provide a Hasselblad professional photography kit that will provide a DSLR-like experience to users.
This strategic partnership reflects Oppo's emphasis on mobile photography innovation, enabling users to take high-resolution shots, improved low-light images, and professional-grade color calibration.
When it comes to battery, Oppo Find X9 should come with a 7,000mAh battery, while the Find X9 Pro should ship with an even bigger 7,500mAh battery. Both phones should feature support for super-fast charging technology, just like the Oppo Find X8 series. Such massive battery capacities will place the Find X9 series amongst the top gaming, content creation, and long usage without needing repeated recharges smartphones.
Though Oppo has officially announced a global launch, the firm has not yet revealed the timeline for the India launch. That said, with Oppo's solid market presence in the country, the Find X9 series is most likely to be available in India shortly after the China rollout.
As for pricing, Oppo has not revealed official figures. For reference, the Oppo Find X8 was launched in India at ₹69,999, while the Find X8 Pro carried a price tag of ₹99,999. Based on this trend, the Oppo Find X9 could be priced around ₹75,000, with the Find X9 Pro potentially crossing the ₹1,00,000 mark.
The Oppo Find X9 series is poised to be one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of 2025. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, Trinity Engine, ColorOS 16, Hasselblad cameras, and large batteries, Oppo is seemingly looking to set new performance, camera, and battery life standards. Judging by leaks and teasers, the X9 Find and Find X9 Pro may be in competition with other Android flagships such as Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and even Apple's future iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Tech enthusiasts and Oppo fans in equal measure will be watching with bated breath the October 16 launch event, with the Find X9 series potentially rewriting the books on what a flagship smartphone experience in 2025 looks like.
