POCO C85 Arrives in India with Competitive Pricing Big Battery and HyperOS Features

POCO has expanded its renowned C-series portfolio in India with the launch of the POCO C85 to target smartphone users who need an extra-large display, long battery life, and reliable day-to-day performance at an affordable price. Beginning at Rs 11,999, the device aspires to bring the cinematic viewing experience to the masses, more so in an era dominated by OTT content consumption, YouTube, and social media scrolling.

POCO C85

The POCO C85 will go on sale via Flipkart starting 12 PM on December 16 and will arrive with various bank offers to bring down the entry price even further. The new RAM and storage variants, fresh color options, and massive battery combined with fast charging make the POCO C85 a strong contender in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment, at least for the multimedia-focused audience.

POCO C85 Price in India and Sale Details

The POCO C85 arrives in three storage configurations, giving buyers the flexibility to choose a variant that suits their performance needs:

  • 4GB + 128GB - Rs 11,999

  • 6GB + 128GB - Rs 12,999

  • 8GB + 128GB - Rs 14,499

Customers using the HDFC, SBI, or ICICI Bank debit/credit cards can avail an instant Rs 1,000 discount, effectively bringing the entry price down to Rs 10,999, making it one of the most affordable large-screen smartphones in the country.

The smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart, starting for the first time on December 16 at 12 PM.

Designed and built aesthetic big "POCO" branding with a slim profile.

The POCO C85 has been launched in three attractive color options: Mystic Purple, Spring Green, and Power Black. The back of the device has a dual-tone finish with a bold "POCO" branding. The rear camera module has a square deco design that holds the 50MP AI primary camera, a secondary lens, and an LED flashlight.

Despite packing a massive battery, POCO has managed to make the device relatively slim at 7.9mm, offering a comfortable in-hand feel.

On the front, there's a U-shaped notch housing an 8MP selfie shooter. It's quite outdated for late 2025; still, it should get the work done and allows POCO to keep the overall cost low.

Performance Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300

The POCO C85 draws power from the 5G capable MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, also utilized in the OPPO K13x. On benchmark tests such as AnTuTu (v10), this processor has been able to score 4,47,305, meaning that it can comfortably handle tasks like browsing, messaging, short video streaming, and casual gaming.

That said, the competition from the Lava Storm Play onwards with a starting price of Rs 9,999 is comprised of the Dimensity 7060 chipset, which scores 5,03,166 on AnTuTu. While POCO may not reign supreme in this case, regarding raw performance, C85 focuses strongly on display and battery experience, the two most important focuses of the target audience.

Display

The major selling point of the POCO C85 is its huge 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display, one of the largest screens in its class. And that makes it a perfect fit for users who get glued more to OTT content watching, social media browsing, and multitasking by using split-screen or floating windows frequently.

Key display features include:

  • HD+ resolution (720p)

  • 120Hz refresh rate

  • 810 nits peak brightness

  • TÜV Low Blue Light certification

  • TÜV Flicker-Free certification

  • TÜV Circadian certification

While the display size is impressive, the 720p resolution may not deliver the sharpest visuals on such a large screen. However, the high refresh rate ensures smooth animations and scrolling.

Battery

POCO has equipped the C85 with a large 6,000mAh battery, putting it on par with devices like the Redmi 15C. This battery is designed to offer exceptional endurance, ideal for users who consume heavy content throughout the day.

POCO claims:

  • 1–50% charge in 28 minutes using the bundled 33W fast charger

  • Up to 29 hours of social media browsing

  • Up to 16 hours of Instagram Reels

  • Up to 106 hours of music playback

Battery

The device also supports 10W reverse charging, which allows the POCO C85 to double as a power bank for accessories or other smartphones.

Camera System

The smartphone features a 50MP AI camera as its main shooter, accompanied by a secondary lens and an LED flash. On the front, the 8MP selfie camera is suitable for video calls and daylight selfies.

While the camera system is sufficient for everyday users, it is not the main highlight of the device. The POCO C85 primarily focuses on battery and display rather than photography.

Software Android 15 with HyperOS

Running on Android 15-based HyperOS, the POCO C85 offers:

  • 2 years of OS upgrades

  • 4 years of security patches

While this commitment is decent for its price range, it falls short when compared to Samsung’s Galaxy M17, which offers up to six OS upgrades. However, for budget smartphone buyers, POCO’s update policy should be more than adequate.

Should You Buy the POCO C85?

The POCO C85 is clearly targeted toward users who prioritize display size, battery life, and affordability. Priced effectively at Rs 10,999 with offers, the phone stands out because:

✔ Reasons to Buy

  • You want a large 6.9-inch display for OTT, YouTube, or social media.

✘ Reasons to Skip
