Realme GT 8 Pro Set to Launch Soon in India with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Ricoh GR Cameras

The Android flagship season is finally heating up in India, as several high-end smartphones have been lined up for a launch in November. Close on the heels of the OnePlus 15 announcement, Realme has now confirmed that its upcoming flagship, called the Realme GT 8 Pro will soon be coming to India. The company has gone live with a dedicated Flipkart microsite already, thereby confirming availability via the e-commerce platform.

Realme GT 8 Pro

Realme’s GT lineup has always focused on offering premium performance at competitive prices, and this time, the brand seems ready to take things up a notch. The Realme GT 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making it one of the first smartphones in India to feature Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful processor. With this, Realme aims to deliver an ultra-fast, efficient, and performance-driven experience for power users and gamers alike.

The First Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Flagship in India

Realme has just confirmed the launch of the GT 8 Pro, which will happen in November, although an exact date is yet to be revealed. Incidentally, the OnePlus 15 launches on November 13, and Realme's announcement somewhat makes it feel that the GT 8 Pro might just follow suit. The company claims this device will be India's first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 smartphone and, from the looks of it, ready to take on the flagship mantle full throttle.

As per the benchmark leaks, the Realme GT 8 Pro has scored over 4,000,000 points on AnTuTu, which is huge and gives a hint about the raw power of this chipset. This means users should expect nothing but the best gaming performance, seamless multitasking, and efficiency at its best. Thus, the phone is most likely to rewrite the definition of a flagship under ₹70,000.

Camera

One of the major selling points of the Realme GT 8 Pro is the unique modular design. The smartphone provides three styles of interchangeable camera modules: square, round, and robot, which can replace the rear panel of the phone. This kind of creativity keeps it apart from the repetitive designs flooding the market.

The GT 8 Pro will include White, Blue, and Green color variants, all with a refreshing premium feel. Comparatively, the GT 7 Pro had a square camera setup; this more modular approach reflects Realme's growing focus on personalization and aesthetics.

Big Battery and Fast Charging Upgrades

Realme has also made massive improvements in the battery department. The GT 8 Pro comes equipped with a 7,000mAh battery, which is a big jump from the GT 7 Pro's 5,800mAh capacity. This means extended screen time for gamers, streamers, and power users.

Besides the big battery, it comes with 120W wired fast charging and 50-watt wireless charging. That's one of the best power configurations on a smartphone today. For this setup, you can stay unplugged for hours, charging your gadget in minutes.

Immersive Display and Flagship Software Experience

The Realme GT 8 Pro boasts a 6.79-inch QHD+ AMOLED display, featuring a refresh rate of 144Hz and 7,000 nits peak brightness for an ultra-smooth, bright, and vibrant visual experience, perfect for video watching, gaming, and productivity tasks.

The device runs Android 16 out of the box, with Realme UI 7.0 on top. This latest UI iteration brings a cleaner design, smoother animations, and enhanced AI-driven performance optimizations. Long-term update commitment from Realme also means the smartphone will stay durable and reliable in terms of software experience.

Ricoh GR Partnership

Perhaps the most exciting highlight of the Realme GT 8 Pro is its cameras, developed in collaboration with Ricoh GR-a brand known for its professional-grade compact cameras. For starters, this collaboration introduces a dedicated "Ricoh GR Mode", offering users an authentic photography experience that rivals Ricoh's imaging quality.

On the camera front, there's a 50MP 1/1.56-inch main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical and 6x lossless zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera sits at 32MP. According to Realme, this Ricoh GR collaboration will boost anti-glare performance, color accuracy, image clarity, reduce distortion, and give DSLR-like results.

This shift indicates that Realme is becoming more serious about mobile photography. After all, smartphone camera collaborations have become a defining trend with brands like Vivo partnering with ZEISS and OPPO with Hasselblad and Realme’s move with Ricoh GR is set to elevate its imaging game.

Realme GT 8 Pro vs GT 7 Pro

Compared to the Realme GT 7 Pro, the GT 8 Pro brings upgrades in almost every department. The design is bolder, the performance is faster, the display is brighter, and the cameras are more capable. The battery jump to 7,000mAh and the introduction of wireless charging make it a much more complete flagship experience.

GT 7 Pro was an all-rounded smartphone, though it did have flaws like overprocessing of photos and minor heating during heavy gaming. It looks like Realme has overcome these flaws with the new chipset-camera collaboration.

The Realme GT 8 Pro represents a huge leap for the flagship series of Realme by including high-end performance, premium design, and pro photography into one package. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the Ricoh GR partnership, and the big 7,000mAh battery make it one of the most anticipated Android flagships this year. This phone might just be the ultimate performance and camera-focused phone for those wanting flagship-grade hardware without breaking the bank.
