Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Confirmed with 9,000mAh Battery, 100W Charging, Under Rs 45,000?

It looks like Redmi will finally be launching its flagship Turbo series phones in India, and guess what? It’s sticking with the name Turbo! Redmi has launched its microsite for the Redmi Turbo 5 in India on Amazon, while Redmi has dropped a teaser on its X (previously Twitter) page stating that the phone will be “Coming Soon.” Stay tuned as we bring you all the details.

Redmi Turbo 5

Redmi Turbo series smartphones have been making quiet inroads into the Indian market through the alias of POCO F-series until now. But things are changing this time with Redmi Turbo 5 coming out with its actual name in India for the first time ever.

This is important because it means that Xiaomi sees potential in building Redmi’s own brand in India’s high-performance smartphones space, which at the moment is largely occupied by OnePlus and iQOO in the price bracket of Rs 38,000 to Rs 45,000.

Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Date

According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Redmi Turbo 5 is likely to be unveiled in India on June 10, 2025. However, Xiaomi has not officially announced the release date for this phone. Nevertheless, the launch of the Amazon microsite and the teaser post indicate that the unveiling will happen shortly.

Stay tuned to the Amazon India page, as the specifications of the phone will be unveiled gradually.

Redmi Turbo 5 Expected Price in India

The Redmi Turbo 5 launched in China earlier this year. Here's how the Chinese pricing converts:

Variant

China Price

Approx. India Price

12GB + 256GB

CNY 1,999

~Rs 28,200

16GB + 512GB

CNY 2,599

~Rs 36,700

Sanju Choudhary, an insider tipster, also predicts that the cost of the smartphone in India may remain below Rs 45,000, especially if it comes packed with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor.

The phone will compete directly with smartphones like the OnePlus Nord 6 (beginning at Rs 38,999), Vivo V70 FE, and Motorola Edge 70 Pro.

Redmi Turbo 5 Full Specifications (Expected)

The Redmi Turbo 5 was designed with mobile gamers and power users in mind. Its spec sheet reflects that clearly.

Display

6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display

120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming

Processor

MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra a chipset built for sustained gaming performance and thermal efficiency

Memory and Storage
  • Up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM

  • Up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage one of the fastest storage standards available

Camera

50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation)

Battery

Here comes the fun part.

Redmi Turbo 5 is being launched in China with a whopping 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery. This itself makes it one of the highest capacities in the category.

However, leaker Debayan Roy claims that the India version can go one step further with a 9,000mAh battery. If that turns out to be true, then it will be exceptional, and it will compete directly with the OnePlus Nord 6 phone.

Charging
  • 100W wired fast charging

  • 27W wireless charging rare at this price point

Durability

IP66 / IP68 / IP69 / IP69K ratings among the most comprehensive water and dust resistance certifications on any mid-range phone

Build

Metal frame with glass back - a premium feel without the premium price

Redmi doesn’t intend to attract those who pursue camera photography and premium design with this one. The Redmi Turbo 5 is aimed at the following consumer type:

  • Gamers looking for speed and cooling

  • Power users who can’t use their devices two times per day

  • Cost-conscious buyers seeking premium features without premium prices

The Redmi Turbo 5 is worth taking into consideration if your priority is not about five-camera configurations and a box-like design but power and speed.

There's no mention of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max on the Amazon microsite. Whether Xiaomi plans to bring it to India at a later date or at all remains unclear for now.

The Redmi Turbo 5 may disrupt the Indian market’s high mid-range category in its own right. The phone with a massive 7,560mAh (or even 9,000mAh) battery, powerful Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, 100W charging, and correct IP rating certification, all priced below Rs 45,000, sounds promising.

With an anticipated launch day on June 10th, only weeks away, we'll need to keep an eye on the Amazon India product page where Xiaomi will begin unveiling the phone's complete specifications. Follow along for price verification and a full review.
