OnePlus Nord 6

The OnePlus Nord 6 5G is set to launch in India soon, and OnePlus has now officially confirmed that the device will be unveiled on April 7 at 7:00 PM. The OnePlus Nord 6 5G will serve as an upgraded version of the OnePlus Nord 5, featuring notable changes to its design as well. Amidst recent reports suggesting OnePlus's withdrawal from certain global markets, the company appears to remain fully active in India and China; OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 15T and is now gearing up for the launch of the Nord 6 in India.

OnePlus Nord 6 Pricing and Launch-Related Information

This new device falls within the ₹35,000 to ₹40,000 price range. This handset is set to feature the largest battery in this segment. The OnePlus Nord 5, launched last year, started at ₹31,999. Bank discounts and introductory offers are expected to be available at the time of launch. However, the company has not yet disclosed any details regarding its pricing; the official price is likely to be revealed on April 7. It will be available for sale in the country through the official channels of Amazon and OnePlus.

Big Battery

A key feature of the Nord 6 is its 9000 mAh battery; it will be the first OnePlus phone in India to come equipped with such a massive battery. Despite this large capacity, silicon-carbon technology (containing 15% silicon content) has been utilized to maximize battery life without significantly increasing the phone's thickness. Consequently, the company claims that the device offers a battery backup of up to 2.5 days equivalent to approximately 26.9 hours of YouTube streaming, 16.6 hours of usage on Google Maps, or 6.3 hours of 4K video recording at 60 fps.

The handset supports 80W SuperVOOC charging, allowing the battery to reach a full charge in approximately 70 minutes. Additionally, it features support for bypass charging and 27W wired reverse charging.

Display

The OnePlus Nord 6 will feature a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED display and is set to be the first 165FPS gaming phone priced under ₹40,000, boasting an 1800-nit High Brightness Mode (HBM) and a peak HDR brightness of 3600 nits. The screen also supports 3,840Hz PWM dimming and Aqua Touch 2.0, ensuring precise touch response even with wet fingers. It is claimed that the upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 will deliver a consistent 165fps performance in popular games such as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), Call of Duty Mobile, and Free Fire Max. In contrast, the Nord 5, Nothing Phone (4a), and Realme 16 Pro feature only a 144Hz display.

Along with this, it features a dedicated Touch Reflex chip and delivers enhanced performance for competitive gaming.

Processor

The OnePlus Nord 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 platform, whereas the Nord 5 ran on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This device features an Adreno 835 GPU. The company claims that it offers a 136% improvement in CPU performance, a 64% improvement in GPU performance, and a 25% improvement in AI performance, achieving an AnTuTu score of 2,503,854. In comparison, the Nord 5 scored approximately 1.4 million on AnTuTu, while the OPPO K13 Turbo Pro scored around 2 million.

OnePlus states that it demonstrates a notable performance increase compared to competitors in the same category, specifically citing higher CPU, GPU, and AI benchmark results relative to the Motorola Edge 60 Pro.

Connectivity

For enhanced connectivity, this device is equipped with a dedicated G2 Wi-Fi chip and supports 5G Advanced networks to improve signal stability and maximize data speeds. Consequently, it delivers a stable signal even in congested networks; furthermore, it is claimed to achieve speeds up to three times faster in collaboration with partners such as Reliance Jio. Additionally, it features a 6-axis gyroscope with ±4000dps sensitivity, as well as a specialized audio booster.

Availability

A live microsite indicates that the smartphone will eventually be available on Amazon. This phone will be available in three colors: Holographic Quicksilver, Fresh Mint, and Low-Reflection Pitch Black.

The OnePlus Nord 6 could be an excellent choice for heavy gamers and users with high battery demands, offering a combination of a large battery and high performance; however, it would be advisable to wait for the official pricing and reviews before making a purchase.
