Nothing is preparing to launch its next mid-range smartphone under the Nothing Phone (4a) lineup, teasers for which have already surfaced online. Industry buzz suggests that the new models could launch as early as next month but leaks have already started to surface, with one leak revealing the storage and colour options for both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro. CEO Carl Pei has also confirmed that the new models will be significant improvements to the Phone (3a) series, as there will be no flagship phone launch this year, as we had reported in our previous reports.

Storage & RAM
According to tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, both models could come in two variants: one with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and the other with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. While Nothing has confirmed the use of UFS 3.1 storage, it's still uncertain whether both variants will benefit from the faster standard. While UFS 3.1 isn't new, it remains a practical upgrade in the mid-range segment, where many devices still come with slower storage.
Colour Options
If we look at the color options, both phones come in two options: Phone (4a) with Black and White color options and Phone (4a) Pro with Black and Silver color options. Although the official color details are still under wraps, the design continues Nothing's minimalist monochrome and transparent design style, or perhaps there will be minor changes instead of a complete overhaul.

Hardware & Battery
According to several rumors, the 4a series phones will feature a Snapdragon 7-series chipset, which is expected to deliver good performance in the mid-range segment. Regarding battery life, the Pro model will come with a 5,080mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the previous 3a series phones, which had a 5,000mAh battery. So, it seems the company is gradually upgrading rather than jumping to the next level.
If we compare this new upcoming Phone 4a series with the previous 3a series, then the Phone 3a series had Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, 120Hz display, 50MP triple cameras and 50W fast charging support. Also, the Pro variant has a Periscope telephoto camera (3× zoom) and a higher-resolution front camera. In terms of pricing, the Phone 3a starts from ₹24,999 and the Pro from ₹29,999.

In the highly competitive landscape of mid-range smartphones, Nothing Phone 4a series seems to follow the brand’s winning strategy of offering its signature look of transparent design, uncluttered Android experience, and balanced performance at an affordable price. Rather than trying to take giant leaps in terms of hardware upgrades, the brand seems to concentrate on fine-tuning what they have done well in the past incremental battery increases, reliable Snapdragon processors, and camera-centric variations between the two models. If they manage to retain their price in the familiar range of ₹25,000 to ₹30,000, the new series seems poised to retain its market share among those looking for a stylish, uncluttered, and reliable experience without compromising on hardware upgrades, though any significant price hike seems to shift the focus to competitors with larger batteries, faster charging, or more recent processors in the same price range.
