Vivo X300 Series Debuts Globally with Compact Design and X300 FE Rumored to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

The Vivo X300 series has finally made its way to the global arena, marking the next big chapter in Vivo's flagship journey. The lineup brings refined design, upgraded internals, and a focus on compact flagship performance. Surprisingly, there is no X300 Pro Mini this time; instead, the regular Vivo X300 itself enters compact flagship territory, offering a no-compromises experience on a smaller scale.

Vivo X300 FE

The Vivo X300 starts at CNY 4,399 (around ₹55,000) in China but will likely be priced higher in India given that the Vivo X200 launched at ₹65,999. The lineup targets flagship enthusiasts who desire high-end performance without thick dimensions typical of traditional large phones. However, Vivo hasn't forgotten the budget-conscious audience who want an affordable flagship experience as a Vivo X300 FE model is reportedly said to be in development and expected to succeed the popular X200 FE.

Vivo X300 FE Hardware

The Vivo X300 FE may well become one of the most exciting releases in Vivo's portfolio to date. Insiders claim that the phone could be a global version of the Vivo S50 Pro Mini that may arrive first in China. Contrary to the main X300 series, which relies on MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+, the FE variant may come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset-a significant twist in its hardware strategy.

Similarly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is said to be a refined version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, balancing flagship power and efficiency. Built on TSMC's advanced 3nm (N3P) process, the chipset is rumored to pack an Oryon CPU with an octa-core setup, including two performance cores clocked at 3.8GHz and six efficiency cores at 3.32GHz. As for graphics, it will boast an Adreno 840 GPU based on the same architecture as the Elite version but optimized for affordability.

Although Qualcomm hasn't officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 just yet, rumors suggest that it will bring flagship performance in a far more power-efficient package. If that's true, the Vivo X300 FE may well become one of the most powerful compact smartphones in the world, outshining the Dimensity 9300+ powered X200 FE not only in terms of raw performance but also regarding efficiency.

Compact Design and Display Similarities

Vivo, on the other hand, appears to be serious about continuing the segment of compact flagships. The Vivo X300 sports a 6.3-inch screen and competes with the iPhone 17 in terms of size and usability. Likewise, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, or the X300 FE, is expected to boast the same 6.31-inch 1.5K flat display that the predecessor model had.

Although details about refresh rate and brightness are still kept secret, one can expect that Vivo will further optimize the display for better HDR visuals and outdoor visibility. This thus makes the device ideal for users who want a small screen while still being immersive with no compromise on visual quality.

Camera Upgrades and Battery Expectations

Probably one of the most intriguing rumors surrounding the Vivo X300 FE, also known as S50 Pro Mini, is the addition of a periscope telephoto camera-a feature rarely seen in compact smartphones. If true, it would provide flagship-level zoom capability in a smaller device, something even top brands often skip in compact versions.

Another department that may see significant improvements is battery performance. While the Vivo X300 already features a 6,040mAh battery, there are reports that the FE version might have an even bigger battery, potentially going past 6,500mAh. This would align with the company's strategy of balancing compact form factors with strong endurance.

Vivo X300 FE Global Launch Expectations

Although these specs remain to be officially verified and confirmed, they do come from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, who has an excellent history of accurate Vivo leaks. With the Vivo S30 Pro Mini already launching as the X200 FE globally, there is a high chance that the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will be rebranded as the Vivo X300 FE for international markets.

This could mean that the X300 FE may see a global, including India, launch soon after the S50 Pro Mini's China launch. With its mix of high-end hardware, improved design, and competitive pricing, the X300 FE could easily slot between premium and mid-range segments and become a strong alternative to both flagships and upper-midrange phones.

The Vivo X300 FE is shaping up to be much more than just an affordable version of the X300: flagship-level performance, premium design, and compact usability are packed into one device. Predecessor Vivo X200 FE was praised for its camera quality, long-lasting battery, and solid performance, finding a sweet spot among those who like smaller phones with no compromises. If Vivo manages to price the X300 FE strategically, it could become one of the year's most balanced compact flagships. With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 power, a premium display, an enhanced camera setup, and strong battery life, this phone is a serious competitor to the upcoming iPhone 17, Galaxy S25e, and Pixel 9a. In other words, the Vivo X300 FE may fundamentally change what users expect from an affordable compact flagship, offering both power and portability in a stylish package.
