Vivo is set to revolutionize smartphone photography with its forthcoming Vivo X300 Series, including the highly awaited Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro phones. The crown jewel of this series is the world premiere of Sony's LYT-828 sensor, a significant milestone in smartphone imaging. The X300 Series will roll out on October 13, promising next-level imaging performance, power efficiency at flagship levels, and sophisticated design.

Sony LYT-828
In a report by China's ITHome, Vivo made the news that the Vivo X300 Pro smartphone would be the first globally to use Sony's LYT-828 sensor a 50MP primary camera with gimbal-level stabilization. The sensor has a 1/1.28-inch size and a large f/1.57 opening, providing CIPA 5.5-level stabilization for better image and video stability.
The LYT-828 features Hybrid Frame-HDR fusion technology, offering a 100dB dynamic range that provides rich detail even under difficult lighting scenarios. Fabricated on a 22nm low-power process, the sensor provides real-time HDR preview and recording and minimizes power consumption. When combined with Zeiss T* coating and Vivo's VCS Bionic Spectrum Technology 3.0, the system offers better color accuracy, natural colors, and less glare redefining the standard for high-end camera performance.
Vivo X300
Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao also confirmed that the base Vivo X300 model will feature an in-house developed HPB 200MP main rear sensor, with impressive zooming and cropping abilities. The sensor maintains 50MP output resolution and covers "widely used" portrait focal lengths, with a wider f/1.7 aperture to provide enhanced depth and sharpness. The phone is further rumored to feature an APO telephoto lens to shoot high-resolution and crisp landscape portraits with the kind of flexibility provided by DSLRs.
The two models will also feature a Zeiss 2.35x telephoto zoom lens and a 200MP periscope sensor, providing users with a wide range of optical capabilities. Vivo will even provide a special teleconverter accessory so enthusiasts may customize the focal length of the camera for creative freedom.
Fueling the Future with Dimensity 9500 and OriginOS 6
Under the hood, Vivo X300 and X300 Pro will introduce the Dimensity 9500 flagship chipset of MediaTek for the first time as a processor on smartphones. The smartphones will run Android 16-based OriginOS 6 with a new design language and AI-driven optimizations to further enhance user experience, performance, and personalization.
OriginOS 6 is set to first release in China and is supposed to release in India on October 15, a day or two after the X300 Series announcement. There will be new AI features for photo editing, app management, and adaptive power optimization available for users.
Display, Battery, and Charging
On the display front, the Vivo X300 will have a 6.31-inch 8T LTPO OLED BOE panel, while the X300 Pro will have a bigger 6.78-inch flat OLED display with ultra-thin bezels for a complete experience. Both phones should offer the highest level of brightness, adaptive refresh rate, and accurate color calibration.
Battery performance also looks promising the X300 may house a 6,040mAh unit, and the X300 Pro could pack a 6,510mAh battery, both supporting 90W fast charging. These numbers suggest that Vivo is aiming for all-day endurance with minimal downtime.
Premium Design and Color Options
Vivo follows through on its tradition of minimalist design with the X300 Series. Both phones will have a 7.95mm narrow profile and light build. But whether this figure accounts for the camera bump is left unknown.
The X300 Pro will be available in four refined color variants Wilderness Brown, Simple White, Free Blue, and Pure Black with a velvet glass finish and curved camera module. The use of clean lines, symmetry, and high-end materials guarantees that the devices are as classy as they are powerful.
Expected Price and Launch Timeline
According to leaks, Vivo is expected to launch the X300 Series in China on October 13, and the India launch is also anticipated to take place from December 5 to 15, 2025. Vivo X300 is said to be priced at around ₹69,999, and the Vivo X300 Pro is expected to be priced at around ₹99,999.
With the lineup's emphasis on leading-edge camera technology, cutting-edge AI integration, and minimalist design, Vivo X300 Series would be able to become one of the world's most advanced flagship smartphones of 2025 redefining mobile photography and performance.
