Vivo X500 Series

With much buzz surrounding the Vivo X300 Ultra’s Indian release, the early leaks have even set the tone for the Vivo flagships of the future, the Vivo X500 series. According to the reports, Vivo is not simply building upon their previous products but also refining the entire process into something more focused and specialized.

From the leaked information, two major trends are emerging. The first involves an extremely powerful camera-based flagship phone called the Vivo X500 Pro Max. The second trend concerns a small flagship phone meant for people who like to use phones of reduced size but still with high-end specifications.

Vivo X500 Pro Max

Leading the pack is the Vivo X500 Pro Max, which is emerging as a promising candidate for those interested in mobile photography. As revealed by tech enthusiast and well-known tipster, Smart Pikachu, the handset under consideration is being evaluated with a 50MP camera equipped with LOFIC sensor technology that aims to deliver an outstanding dynamic range performance compared to conventional technologies available in phones such as the Vivo X300 Pro.

While standard HDR technology uses post-processing techniques to enhance dynamic range performance, the next-gen LOFIC technology takes this task one step further by allowing the sensor to capture highlight details more precisely without blowing out highlights. Therefore, instead of requiring post-processing, users will be able to obtain perfectly-balanced photographs right out of the camera without the need for additional tweaking.

One of the key features of the device is the 200MP periscope telephoto camera, indicating the manufacturer's continuous emphasis on enhancing zoom capabilities. The use of the periscope telephoto camera promises to enable users to shoot outstanding photos at incredible distances without losing quality.

It is worth noting that the phone may also come with a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

Expected Specifications at a Glance

Beyond its camera system, the Vivo X500 Pro Max is rumored to pack flagship-grade hardware across the board:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset

  • 6.9-inch 2K LTPO display with up to 144Hz refresh rate

  • Massive 7,000mAh battery

  • Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor

If these specifications hold true, the X500 Pro Max won’t just be about photography it will also deliver top-tier performance, display fluidity, and battery endurance.

Compact Flagship

It is worth noting that Vivo seems to be developing a small flagship handset within the same X500 series. According to the leaks posted by tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming smartphone will feature a 6.4-inch screen, equipped with the regular Dimensity 9600 chip.

The device is not likely to sacrifice its imaging hardware despite its smaller dimensions. The news mentions that the camera system would consist of a 50MP LOFIC main unit and a periscope telephoto module.

Vivo already produces smaller flagships, such as the Vivo X300 FE and Vivo X300 versions. Therefore, it is currently uncertain how exactly this upcoming device will be positioned. It might become either an FE version or even a T-series handset, among other possibilities.

“Pro Max” Branding

Other exciting things about this include the possible use of the name “Pro Max” for Vivo products. The “Pro Max” name is one that started with the iPhone 11 Pro Max in 2019, and even though many other companies have adopted it, it would mean that Vivo might be changing how it organizes its flagship series.

It is not clear whether Vivo will completely shift to using “Pro Max” and stop using “Ultra.” However, should that not happen, then Vivo might end up creating a new type of flagship series.

The leak of the Vivo X500 series indicates a move towards differentiation based on consumer preferences. In particular, the Vivo X500 Pro Max version is designed for users who seek state-of-the-art camera technology, while the smaller version focuses on delivering high-end technology in a more compact body.

In this case, buyers might easily identify their product preference based on their personal needs and desires. For instance, photographers would be more interested in the Vivo X500 Pro Max because of the advanced camera technology, while others might appreciate a powerful compact phone.

However, considering that the new Vivo X500 line will not appear for several months, at this point, it might be useful to give a shot at purchasing the Vivo X300 Ultra if possible and affordable.
