Xiaomi 17T India launch expected in May 2026

Aims to fill the premium mid-flagship gap in India
Last month, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra alongside the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Watch 5 in select global markets, with prices starting at ₹89,999. Now, the company is gearing up to launch a more affordable flagship device under this lineup. Dubbed the Xiaomi 17T, this smartphone is expected to launch in India by the end of next month. While earlier reports had suggested an April or May launch, newer leaks indicate that a May launch is more likely, with a potential price tag ranging between ₹55,000 and ₹60,000. This device will serve as a more affordable premium alternative to the Xiaomi 17; however, Xiaomi has not yet made any official announcements, and all pricing and specifications remain based on leaks at this stage.
The Xiaomi 15T is expected to feature a 1.5K 144Hz OLED display, which will offer a smoother experience compared to the 120Hz displays found in the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This handset will support frame rates of up to 144fps in games like BGMI and CoD Mobile essentially making it an exceptional device for gaming.
The phone is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, a new sub-flagship-tier processor. Along with this, it is set to offer features such as an All-Big-Core CPU architecture, a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, an NPU 880 for AI processing, and enhancements for superior gaming performance and power efficiency.
The Xiaomi 17 is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP OIS main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens equipped with a JN5 sensor. For selfies and video calls, the handset is set to feature a 32MP front-facing camera. Additionally, the device is expected to benefit from Leica tuning, which could significantly enhance its photo quality.
In addition to all this, this device will feature wireless charging support, IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance, NFC support, and an IR blaster.
All in all, the Xiaomi 17T could emerge as a powerful flagship option priced under ₹60,000. It would cater to users who do not wish to purchase expensive flagship devices; Xiaomi could position it as a "Flagship for the masses."
