The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is designed to awe with a 6.85-inch OLED folding screen, featuring a 1.5K resolution and silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screen guarantees rich graphics and smooth interactions, ideal for gaming, multimedia, and productivity on the move. The design is purported to be heavily improved over its original iteration, standing merely 7.6mm when unfolded and tipping the scales at an estimated 190 grams, making it thinner and lighter than the original Mix Flip.

Besides being a technological wonder, the Mix Flip 2 will also support fashion-conscious customers with stylish lifestyle accessories that should be coming with the phone. With this launch, Xiaomi seems to be gunning for a higher-end and trendy customer base.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Peak Performance

Under the hood, the Mix Flip 2 should be fuelled by Qualcomm's newer Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, providing scorching-fast performance, top-notch multitasking, and premium gaming experiences. Be it rapid app switching, image editing, or playing graphics-demanding games, the Snapdragon 8 Elite guarantees seamless and lag-free action, making the Mix Flip 2 a direct competitor to other high-end foldables available in the market.

Battery and Charging

Battery life has never been something foldable devices take lightly, and Xiaomi is getting serious with the Mix Flip 2's large 5,100mAh battery. To go along with plenty of battery life capacity, the phone will feature 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, allowing users to spend less time waiting for the device to charge and more time using it. With these high-class charging facilities, the Mix Flip 2 is likely to be among the most efficient of its kind in the market.

Cameras with Pro-Level Optics

As far as the camera is concerned, Xiaomi promises flagship-grade photography with a dual-camera system, which includes a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. These cameras offer breathtaking clarity, vivid color reproduction, and wide-angle photography ideal for landscapes and group snaps. The addition of OIS provides smoother video and sharper low-light shots—perfect for both content creators and casual users.

Flagship Features

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 isn’t just about looks and power it’s also packed with flagship-grade features. The phone will likely include:

  • An in-screen fingerprint scanner for biometric security

  • IR blaster for remote control functionality

  • NFC for contactless payments and data transfers

  • IPX8 water resistance rating, offering peace of mind against water exposure

These features indicate Xiaomi's attention to detail and its aim to compete head-on with foldables from Samsung, OPPO, and Motorola.

Certified and Ready

The Mix Flip 2 is already 3C certified in China, which indicates that the phone is launch-ready and Xiaomi is completing the last stages of production. The Chinese launch is officially slated for June 2025, with a worldwide launch coming a little later in July.

It’s important to note that while the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and Redmi’s compact gaming tablet will be launched around the same time, the Mix Flip 2 will debut at a separate event, reflecting its premium positioning.

Interestingly, the Redmi K80 Ultra will remain China-exclusive, though a rebranded global version likely the Xiaomi 15T Pro may launch in Q3 2025.

With the imminent release of the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, Xiaomi is all geared up to revamp its foldable series with improved design, potent internals, and hardware-packed features. Ranging from high-quality construction and flagship-grade performance to rapid charging, professional-grade cameras, and IPX8 toughness, the Mix Flip 2 looks like a serious contender in the foldable segment.

As the foldable market keeps expanding globally, Xiaomi's latest offering might be a real competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip series and other premium foldables. Wait for more news as we head towards the official release in June.
