Infinix Smart 20 is launching in India on June 8 with a 6.78-inch 120Hz display, MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate chipset, 5,200mAh battery, IP64 rating, and Ultra Link feature.

The smartphone manufacturer Infinix is gearing up to make an entry in the intensely competitive budget segment of smartphones in the Indian market with the Infinix Smart 20 smartphone. The company has formally announced the release of the phone in the country on June 8 at 12 PM and will shortly put the phone up for sale on Flipkart. In anticipation of the official release, Infinix has provided details about the phone's features on a microsite.
The Infinix Smart 20 is expected to succeed the Smart 10 smartphone from the previous year and offer improvements in various departments. Provided the pricing of the device remains aggressive, the smartphone can emerge as a formidable option in the sub-Rs 8,000 segment.
Infinix Smart 20 India Launch Confirmed
Infinix Smart 20 will be introduced in India on June 8 at midday. The mobile phone is expected to cater to those customers who want a feature-packed smartphone without paying a high price for it. Given its big screen, superior chipset, improved durability, and better design, the Smart 20 looks like a big improvement over its previous version.

As the market becomes more competitive in the entry-level smartphone segment, the trend among companies is to pack their phones with premium features but at an economical price tag. This seems to be the case with the latest release from Infinix, too.
Display
However, one of the major selling points for the Infinix Smart 20 includes its big 6.78-inch screen. Compared to the previous model of Infinix Smart 10, this one comes with a slightly bigger screen as it had 6.67 inches.
What should also be pointed out is the ability of this smartphone to support up to 120Hz refresh rate. With a higher refresh rate, users will be able to scroll smoothly through the feed on their favorite apps, navigate faster through UI menus, and get improved performance in general when playing games.
This particular feature might be especially appreciated by people switching from their previous smartphones that used only 60Hz screens.
Processor
Underneath the hood, the Infinix Smart 20 is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate chipset combined with 4GB RAM.
Without benchmarks published by Infinix, it may not be clear how much better this processor would perform against the older Unisoc T7250, but it should provide some improvements when compared with the previous model. This upgraded chipset would be able to make basic operations run smoothly, such as browsing the internet, watching videos, scrolling through social media, and switching between apps.
Even if it isn't designed primarily for gaming, the phone's upgraded chipset would be able to play some mobile games without much difficulty.
Battery
Longevity of battery life continues to be an essential requirement for budget smartphones, and Infinix is catering to this by including a hefty 5,200mAh capacity battery in the Smart 20.
This smartphone comes with 15W wired charging support along with 5W reverse wired charging. This allows the user to use the device itself as a charger for any compatible devices or accessories that require charging.
Infinix claims that the smartphone will offer 39 days of standby mode battery life. Even though actual battery life would depend on several factors like usage, network, brightness level, and applications installed, users can hope to get a full day of battery life from the device.
However, competitors have already begun to introduce batteries with capacities of as much as 6,000mAh and even up to 7,000mAh capacity in their budget devices.
Durability
Another great feature that has been introduced in the smartphone is the IP64 standard for resistance to water splashes and dust. In today’s smartphones, durability standards are getting more importance regardless of whether or not the smartphone belongs to the premium category. The introduction of the IP64 standard offers greater safety from splashes and dust while using it.
It should be noted that this is one of the features that have not yet been introduced in low-end smartphones.
Long-Distance Communication
The Infinix Smart 20 will also come with the ultra link technology from the company.
Through this, any Infinix smart phone capable of supporting this technology will be able to connect and send messages to each other wirelessly at a distance of even a kilometre. This kind of technology is very helpful when network availability is limited.
Whether practically applicable or not, one thing for sure is that this brings out uniqueness in this smart phone.
Slim Design and Four Stylish Colour Options
Infinix has also paid attention to the design of the Smart 20.
The smartphone features a textured rear panel and a rectangular camera module that houses dual rear cameras alongside an LED flash. Despite packing a large battery, the handset maintains a slim profile with a thickness of just 7.7mm.
The company will offer the device in four attractive colour variants:
Cloudline Blue
Polaris Titanium
Shadow Black
Sunlike Orange
The variety of colour options should appeal to younger buyers who prefer smartphones with a more distinctive appearance.
Expected Price in India
Although there is still no information released by Infinix regarding the price of their upcoming phone, speculation indicates that this handset might fall in the budget category.
As a reference, the previous model, Infinix Smart 10, was launched in India for Rs 6,799. Due to improvements in terms of specifications and increasing costs in the smartphone market, it can be predicted that this new phone will be more expensive than its predecessor.
Infinix Smart 20 is anticipated to be offered at less than Rs 8,000. This price range would make it competitive against other smartphones offered by Lava, Redmi, POCO, and itel.
Should Infinix continue to offer aggressive prices, then the Infinix Smart 20 can serve as a great alternative for students, as well as new users of smartphones.
Considering all the technical specifications available at this point in time, it seems that the Infinix Smart 20 is quite an improvement compared to its predecessor. Such things as a huge 120 Hz screen, Helio G81 Ultimate chipset, IP64 water resistance certification, 5,200 mAh battery life, reverse charging functionality, and thin body are worth mentioning.
On the other hand, certain key aspects regarding the phone remain unknown. These include camera features, software update support, as well as the actual price of the device.
So, based on what we know about the new Infinix Smartphone so far, it certainly looks like an interesting device and can become one of the best smartphones within its price range, especially in case it will be sold at a relatively low cost.
Taking into account that the official launch is set to take place in less than a week, we won't have to wait much longer to learn more about the phone.
