Lava Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 Launching in India on July 24 With Clean Android and IP64 Rating

Lava has officially announced the Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 smartphones ahead of their India launch on July 24. Both phones offer clean Android, IP64 protection, large displays, and budget-friendly specifications.

Lava is gearing up to gain a foothold in the smartphone space in India by bringing forth an all-new lineup of smartphones under the name of the Lava Virat line. The indigenous brand has officially announced that the Lava Virat V1 5G and Lava Virat V1 are set to make their appearance in India on July 24, catering to consumers who seek affordable smartphones with reliable performance, stock Android experience, superior design, and longevity.
The upcoming Virat line marks a new direction for Lava in the fiercely competitive world of budget and mid-range smartphones. Along with announcing the launch dates of the smartphones, Lava has also unveiled several important features of the phones.
Lava Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 India Launch Date Confirmed
According to Lava, the Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 models will go live in India on July 24. It seems like the Indian smartphone brand is revising its online selling strategy since the two new smartphones will be sold exclusively through Flipkart and not Amazon, which has always been Lava’s main e-commerce partner when launching smartphones.
The prices of the two models have not been disclosed yet. However, Lava has presented the Virat range of smartphones as a value series that puts more emphasis on software and hardware.
Lava Virat V1 5G Specifications
The Lava Virat V1 5G is targeted towards those individuals who want to join the 5G network without sacrificing their experience altogether.
It boasts a 6.75-inch HD+ screen, which will most likely be an LCD panel offering a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone is driven by the UNISOC T8200 chip, which has been used in many other smartphones, such as the Lava Shark 2 5G, Ai+ Nova 2, and HMD Vibe 2.
As far as performance is concerned, the processor should easily manage everyday tasks like surfing the Internet, social networking, communication via various applications, multimedia consumption, and casual gaming. During benchmarking, the UNISOC T8200 apparently scores around 5,50,000 points in the AnTuTu test suite, lagging behind the MediaTek Dimensity 6300.
A 13MP dual rear camera system is responsible for all photography-related tasks, while a 5MP front-facing camera is responsible for selfies. One of Lava's biggest strengths continues to be its software experience. The Virat V1 5G will ship with a clean Android interface free from advertisements and unnecessary pre-installed apps, offering a clutter-free user experience that remains a key selling point for the brand.
Premium Design With IP64 Protection
From the official render images, it is evident that the Virat V1 5G uses a contemporary design language where the box-like texture designs can be seen on the back cover alongside the camera module, which has a square shape.
In addition, the device has an IP64 certification level that protects the phone from dust particles and splash-proof water resistance.
The Virat V1 5G will be available in two stylish colors:
Arya Blue
Sonar Gold
With an attractive pricing strategy, the Virat V1 5G may act as a good competitor to the Realme C83, Moto G37 Power, and OPPO K14x, which are smartphones.
Lava Virat V1 Specifications
Lava's latest entry level Virat V1 comes for entry level smartphone buyers and is supposed to be 4G only device.
The device gets same size and resolution screen like its 5G variant – 6.75 inches HD+ display with high refresh rate.
As usual, there is 5,000 mAh large battery for full day battery performance for daily use. Besides that, the device got IP64 rating for dust and splash proof performance.
In terms of hardware performance, the new entry level smartphone is equipped with UNISOC SC9863A chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and ability to expand RAM to 4GB. Internal storage capacity is set to 64 GB.
Despite the fact that SC9863A is relatively old 28 nm 2018 chip, it is supposed to be quite powerful to handle basic activities such as making calls, texting, using social networks and watching videos. In case of real world performance of this chip, we will see it when device will be tested.
For taking pictures, Lava provides 13 MP dual AI rear camera system and 5 MP selfie camera. Just like the 5G variant, Lava is offering a clean Android experience without ads or bloatware, making the software feel lightweight and responsive.
Simple Yet Elegant Design
Compared to the patterned finish on the Virat V1 5G, the Virat V1 adopts a cleaner and more minimalistic appearance.
The rear panel features a plain finish without decorative textures, giving it a subtle look. The smartphone will be available in two color options:
Nilgiri Blue
Himalayan Silver
The simplified design should appeal to users who prefer a classic and understated smartphone aesthetic.

It is important to mention that Lava has also made sure that all the models of the Virat series would continue enjoying the advantage of Free Home Service provided by it.
The idea behind the program is to give after sales service at the doorsteps of the consumers without having to come to the service centers, thus making it more convenient.

The Virat series seems like Lava wants to give customers what they need in their budget smartphones a reliable device with an unadulterated Android experience, robust construction, reliable battery life, and smooth post-sale assistance.
Whereas the Virat V1 5G seems set for a competition among the budget 5G phones with its UNISOC T8200 chip, 120Hz refresh rate screen, and IP64 rating, the Virat V1 will target novice smartphone owners who want a budget phone.
The real issue is that of the prices. In case Lava successfully launches both these smartphones with aggressive pricing starting from July 24th, the Virat series will be one of the best budget smartphone series around.
